How a Millionaire?s Brain Works?

A man walked into a bank in New York City one day and asked for the loan officer.

He told the loan officer that he was going to Philippines on business for two weeks and needed to borrow $5,000. The bank officer told him that the bank would need some form of security for the loan.

Then the man handed over the keys to a new Ferrari parked on the street in front of the bank. He produced the title and everything checked out The loan officer agreed to accept the car as collateral for the loan. The bank?s president and its officers all enjoyed a good laugh at the guy for using a $250,000 Ferrari as collateral against a $5,000 loan.

An employee of the bank then drove the Ferrari into the bank?s underground garage and parked it there. Two weeks later, the guy returned, repaid the $5,000 and the interest, which came to $15.41.

The loan officer said, ?Sir, we are very happy to have had and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out and found that you are a multi millionaire. What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow ?$5,000″.

The millionaire replied: ?Where else in New York City can I park my car for $15.41 and expect it to be there when I return?

Well thats how the rich stay rich, they know a lot more about Money Management. All the millionaires I have met in my life were penny wise. Look after your cents and the Dollars will look after themselves.

Why do people keep acting like being a "millionaire" is a big deal these days?

Honestly, being a millionaire doesn't mean as much anymore as it did some decades ago.

Interesting. Back in the days when I was waiting tables and working retail I would always wonder why for the life of me would all the rich people ask for discounts.

Sounds like a totally made up story. What bank accepts a vehicle of any kind as collateral for a loan? Like they would just drive the collateral to their garage... puh-lease.

He paid $15.41 in interest but the depreciation hit due to the extra 1,000 miles it magically gained, along with some strange scrape marks along the bottom of the body, is gonna be way more.

Let's just say that I've gone most of the way

I'm certainly not making most of my money in adult, though. I've found mainstream to be far easier. Also, I indeed do not work much. Two hours a day tops, these days, so making a lot more money would be relatively easy if I really wanted to, and were willing to sacrifice my true interests for it.

My main point about the idea of a "millionaire mindset" being doesn't have much to do with that, though. These days, a million just isn't worth as much as it was a few decades ago, and there are relatively more relatively richer people in the US and Western Europe.
At the moment, I'd say that most of the people over 50 that I know are either millionaires or close to it. With that many of them walking around, being a millionaire simply doesn't mean as much anymore... hell, being a millionaire doesn't even make you rich these days. It just means you're well-off.

I'd say that 10 million is the new million

Its bad to own people around you

jokes apart, I agree with the Libertine that 10 million is a new million, keeping in mind the growing number of millionaires.

What you say is indeed true. The story should speak of a multi millionaire's mind or whatever. Yet it is a story. It does not need to be entirely true. Yes a bank would just take a car note and not the car. What multi millionaire would own such a car in NY specially living inside of it obviously where they would have no long term parking already arranged. Hell where would he park it the other 51 weeks of his life. Though it is a story. One to explain to think outside of the box and make money at every opportunity while also saving the money you can.

As to whom said just earn more than you can possibly spend or something like that. It is near impossible to do, you do realize that right? To many accelerate their standard of living (costs) to that of what they make (income) that they still are almost living paycheck to paycheck (balance) without selling what they have (depreciating assets). Now why would I spend 100.00 when I can get the same thing for 50.00 and have 50.00 more to spend elsewhere, invest, or save? This applies to millions, hundreds of thousands, thousands, hundreds, fifty, ten, one, half, quarter, tenth, twentieth, and one hundredths of dollars.

The thing is, while being frugal and having original ideas on how to save or make money are certainly good things, they miss the essence of making money.

Making money isn't so much about small, original ideas, as it is about having insight into markets, doing proper research, seeing opportunities in markets, recognizing scalability, managing your business and just plain old hard work and perseverance.

Every single person on this board could easily be a millionaire - except maybe for spacedog - if they only applied the things they already know.

The problem is that most people are both impatient and lazy. They want to see something right away, and only rarely do they do the research and such that is so essential to being successful in business. So, they end up entering saturated markets with inferior products, or creating businesses in markets with very limited growth potential, or even delivering half-assed products in open markets with great growth potential.

Starting and growing a successful business does not require you to be a genius. You just have to know what you're doing. You don't need the elusive "great business idea" that so many people seem to be waiting for - you need to actively seek out markets, analyze their potential and, if it's good, fill in the unsaturated niches.

Honestly, being a millionaire doesn't mean as much anymore as it did some decades ago.
Being a millionaire now means you don't retire into poverty. Thats about it.
