Well I just wonder with the law is on the books. Can local police dept's do their own invesigations? Is this a FBI only deal, or can local police dept's or DA's take it on their own to do records checks?

Seems this kinda stuff could easily be abused in more consertive areas if the local DA's and cops can go do their own thing.

if memory strikes me right ,they can bring local law enforcement with them. So you could get in theory congrats you passed and the local cop arrests you operating a porn business.

PS: how did they become that, who elected them, is it a dictatorship/monarchy etc, anything at all?

Nevermind apparently here they are:
Adult industry attendees included attorneys Paul Cambria (representing LFP), Jeffrey Douglas (representing Red Light District and Smash Pictures) and Greg Piccionelli (representing Digital Playground), Red Light's Larry Schwarz, LFP's Sean Berrios, Julie Russell of Wicked Pictures, Gayle Ertz from Vivid Entertainment Group, Chris Haberski from KeepSafe, AVN's Mark Kernes, Tom Hymes of XBiz, and Lawrence Iyoho, Jr. of The Score Group.

Lots of video people to be honest, how did they get invites?

I think that a pretty distinguished group of people representing for us. Not sure how the invitation process went - the attorneys mentioned definitly have our best interests at heart.

This is why the statute itself has 4th amendment problems, not to mention the 1st and 5th amendment problems.

The problem of course, is that it will be very very expensive to challenge the law itself on constitutional grounds, and for the big players that could fund a case like that, it's a hell of a lot cheaper to keep the records in order. :2 cents:

Not to mention, it will be interesting to see what happens when a corporation has a violation, who do you throw in jail for that? The custodian of records? The photographer who did the shoot? The CEO?
Technically the stockholders own the company, you gonna throw them in jail?

Distinguished yes. Representative of the video and net side, not so much. Representative of the mom and pop establishment not at all.

Please also take note as written: (since you brought up attorneys)
Paul Cambria (representing LFP)
Sean Berrios (LFP)
Jeffrey Douglas (representing Red Light District and Smash Pictures)
Larry Schwarz (Red Light District)
and Greg Piccionelli (representing Digital Playground)

Please notice the word "representing".
Also anyone notice the lack of representative for the FSC?
