Out of the blue he found out his knee hurt.. And he had to have surgery, one that latest news says will now keep him from playing for next year.

Oden isn't going to be shit anyways...everyone is just going to have to wait another year to find that out. He'll be in foul trouble his whole career and people will say that is the reason he did not live up to his potential. When in fact he was nothing better than an average forward. I'm not sure where all the hype came from, he can block some shots but he isn't big enough to guard any real power forwards in the league or big/good enough to post them on O.

If he indeed had micro fracture surgery then he will be out for the year, but I haven't heard that for sure. Portland wasn't going to do anything with him anyway this year, give them three years to develop all that young talent.

Greg Oden, the No. 1 pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, likely will miss the 2007-08 season following micro fractrure knee surgery, the Portland Trail Blazers confirmed today in a statement.

Oden wrote about another bump in the road Tuesday in his blog at yardbarker.com: "On my vacation earlier this summer I got up off the couch and remember my knee having a sharp pain in it. That was about a month ago."

Oden is expected to be on crutches for up to eight weeks. Recovery time generally takes between six and 12 months for full recovery from micro fracture surgery, the team said in the news release.

REMEMBER: Be careful when getting off the couch while on vacation people!!!

Durant is the better pick, he's going to actually play. As far as him being stronger, it really has no relevance, he is a young guy he will develop and be able to battle, just give it some time. BTW, I like Oden, but Portland is cursed. So are my Knicks, once King got hurt that was it, I thought we had it in Starks........

I don't however believe this makes him an injury prone player. In fact, some times injuries like this are good for guys such as him. He has taken a beating his entire life, occasionally, a string of months off heals not only the injury, but the body in general.

Ever notice how a guy in the NBA will get hurt for a season and then come back on fire? They get their legs back and they tend to focus on basics.

Not saying this will be the scenario for Oden, but I am saying it isn't the end of the world. Yet.

This makes me laugh...do you really believe that he can play Center? He's listed at 7ft 250 lbs, but I don't believe it. I'd say he's more like 6'10"/11" 240 lbs. So you're saying that he's better than Duncan, Shaq, Eddie Curry, Ben Wallace, Rasheed Wallace, Amare, Dwight Howard, Emeka Okafor, Brad Miller, Okur, Camby, Jermaine O'Neal, Ilgauskas, Dalembert, Yao Ming....shit, I don't even think he's better than most starting Centers in the league. Write this shit down and when he finally gets on the court remember I was the one who told you that he was just an average motherfucker in the league (who happens to look like he's closing in on retirement). I don't even think he's the best big man on his team, I think Channing Frye has the potential to be better than him soon, if not already.
