mtv is about pop and 14 year old demographics.
he shouldn't give a shit.
Look at the nominees and the categories and winners. There were several hip hop acts that I felt were the winners in the category and when the announcement of the winner came I was shocked. He is truly missing the FACT that MTV is not a hip hop station. They want ad revenue. Every hour of MTV is 37 minutes of ads, I kept track for a whole hour one time because it seemed like ad after ad after ad. MTV chooses the winners. They choose them based on their programming, the programming that attracts the maximum ad dollars per minute of air time.
Kanye is a great artist. I don't like his approach, or that he demands to win anything. He does very well on other awards shows. MTV is a loss if you are musically pure. They are a business and could care less which song is really best.
Many people who should have won, did not. MTV is a business, the VMAs are an engine in that business.

anyhow. His frustration is wasted energy.
