:stop Affraid that your domain might get stolen like what happened to Spycam? Read this!

I red the post Spycam made about his stolen domains. I hope this never happens to me but sometimes it makes me nervous just thinking about it. Anyway, glad Spycam got his domains back.

A possible solution would be this new thing Domaintools is offering. They are offering a domain "insurance" to save your income if they get stolen.

Here's the article i found at DNjournal.com:

DomainTools.com became the first company to offer "domain insurance" yesterday when CEO Jay Westerdal announced the offering on his site. If the prospect of having your domain stolen makes you nervous, the DomainTools service will cover a loss up to $100,000 (and pay $1,000 for every day your domain is in the hands of a thief) for a premium of $100 per year. You can buy higher coverage amounts if you wish - all the way up to $20 million (with a $200,000 per day payment for each day your domain is missing) for an annual premium of $10,000. You can contact Jay -at- DomainTools.com to enroll or learn more about the service.

Might be something to check out!

Heard of flood insurance? By the time they have to pay up, they will come up with a reason not to, like the damage is from wind not water, etc..... Somehow insurance companies do not make me feel any better. A simple domain lock is free and worth the investment

I think domaintools is not a firm that would get involved with flood insurance. They are legit.

you know when they say that the people that sell antivirus software pay dudes to create and spread viruses (probably bull but who knows), I hope this is not the same business model

Not so sure is this good idea since insurance can be cheated.
