I tried making an omelette a couple days ago, ended up turning into scrambled eggs with cheese on top. Saw on a cooking show once, the best way to make it perfect is to take the pan held over your plate slide half the omlette onto the plate and push the pan over it and the other half will flop over perfectly. Sadly I forgot this when I was making mine.
