I voted for Silvercash

StuartD 09-11-2007 01:13 PM

I wonder how these polls would go if there was no icq.

I knew I should have stayed offline today.

p1mpdogg 09-11-2007 01:38 PM

the only way they can be rigged is if GFY does something to adjust the vote count.

I did all of this to piss you off, it was a big conspiracy. This poll will work no different then any other type of election/contest... people will campaign for it. It is up to the people voting to decide which they like best. There is 1000's of people on GFY, even with a strong campaign (aka spam icq) the most popular sponsors should win out.

since I can't see who voted I have no idea the age of the accounts that made the votes. Anything internet based would have these issues. I hope the sponsors who win has a couple hundred votes. I can ask GFY to check to see if the accounts voting were all new but other than that I don't think there is anything that can be done.

This poll is for 7 days, lets wait to see where they end up. It hasn't even been 24 hours yet.

Some of those programs have been around a long time and do very very well for themselves. They have more affiliates than the other programs have dollars.

Yet they won't win simply because they haven't spent the day sending out mass icq's.

I guess it all depends on your definition of popular.

that doesnt make sense. So you are saying that Company A has more affiliates than company B has dollars but that Company B has more people on ICQ that are willing to vote for them?

If a company has been around for years and has thousands of affiliate (many of which are here) why can't they out vote a new company's ICQ list ?

will76 09-11-2007 03:28 PM

NOTICE TO ANYONE USING FAKE NICKS!

I will be contacting Eric, to ask him to do some spot checking. If he sees a lot of votes going to the same sponsor from nicks created in the last couple days then that companies vote count will be reset to zero, if it happens again they will be deleted.

If you have 20 votes and 15 are from new nicks just made, there is no excuse for that.

So everyone has been warned. Let's keep it clean :)

No, I'm saying that Company A simply won't take the time to be icq'ing people just to come and vote in some gfy thread.

OMG you're still clueless

some popular people have lots of fake nicks regged through the past few years

no one is registering fake nicks only to vote here

because GFY is a clusterfuck and not many people here really care about your contests, because there's the newest stickyfingerz drama or britney's pussy video next to it

topbucks may have 5k affiliates, but that doesn't mean that they will get 300 votes here

you still didnt realize that your polls aren't really popular? you had to bump them all the time by yourself

again, this is not a personal attack, just illustrating that your perception of certain things is wrong

If Company A has thousands of happy affiliates then they wont need to work their ICQ lists in the first place. I am sure this thread will be seen by thousands of people and any top notch affiliate program should have a lot more of their affiliates see this vs some new program's ICQ list of friends.

What would I be with out Stuart D and polish_aristocrat trying to educate me. I would be nothing without them. Thank you for educating me.

No, obviously you're the one dialed in... I mean, right now SatanCash has 48 votes, Silvercash has 11 and TopBucks has 8.

Clearly Topbucks and Silvercash are way less popular than SatanCash.

Ah i see. Hey Mr. Smarty pants, you do know that it hasn't been 24 hours and this is a 7 day poll. Please reserve your bitching untill the poll is over. The end result could be a lot different than what you see in the first day.

Remind me next time you do something, anything. I will come make sure to tell you how you are clueless and how it could have been done better. Wait, you didn't mention how this could have been done better, you just complaining about it. Ok, remind me next time you do anything for me to come complain about it. If you don't care about this and think it is stupid why do you find it necessary to make several posts here about it ?

Just to be clear .. I would not ask people to use fake nicks to bump up my votes. Pete did ICQ people we've worked with in the past and make them aware of the thread and if they like our program we would hope they would vote for us. in the long run I'm sure things will even out but we felt we should campaign for ourselves just like we would for an Xbiz or any other award.

Good luck to everyone in the Competition ..

Mike

Mike no problem at all nothing wrong with what you guys are doing. Please leave Stuart D off your future ICQs we don't want him to come in and rant about it :winkwink:

Every company is welcome to inform their associates about this thread. No one is forcing anyone to vote and their vote is anonymous so when they get to this thread they should vote for who they think is best.

And to the idiot who thinks he is posting on behalf of GFY, that he thinks no one cares about this contest... The sponsors involved will get a lot of good exposure from this, both on my site and from press releases that will go out announcing the winners.

that is the good stuff, i remember drinking it in high school and some people saying that it was made with cocaine in it.

harvey 09-12-2007 09:43 PM

not trying to piss on anyone's cornflakes, but in that list I just see programs I heard of for the 1st time today, programs I thought were dead or almost and the lack or REALLY POPULAR programs with thousands and thousands of affiliates. I don't know, not seeing "little boys" like Twisty's, Vivid, ARS, Reality Cash, PrivateCash, Meatcash, Traffic Cash Gold just to name a few makes me think that whatever the output, it makes no sense anyway.

From that list, I'd vote for 3 of those programs in no particular order, but I really don't get the criteria to vote. I mean, TCG, Twistys and ARS are 10x more popular than most on that list

In short: IMHO, good idea, wrong system. Maybe you should try a "program's owners only" poll or something like that. You'll risk the "bro factor", but it will be way more accurate than this. The lack of the mentioned programs (between others) proves it

Just my :2 cents:
