The best Metal band?

I put my vote on Metallica, their early albums & Garage Inc. rocks!

Well if were talking a little "softer" music i put my vote on Iron Maiden, mostly cause i liked them since i was 12 ;) .

But if were going to digg deeper in the world of good music we find Cradle of Filth... thats grreeeaaattt dark black metal. If you havent heard them then try to find the great track "Tearing the veil from grace".

Thats just my 2 cents.

Of the new bands I would have to say "In Flames"

For older stuff I'd have to go with Sabbath too.

For new bands I would say SOAD or Hatebreed, for older bands I would say Slayer and old Metallica.

SOAD is starting to piss me off. There new album is pretty decent, first was much better.

I'll never forget Black Sabbath. Classic, awesome fucking music.

Have you heard the latest In FLames album called "reroute to remain"? I kinda disliked In Flames after that record, they are going towards Nu-Metal style(for thoose who dont know what nu-metal is: Linkin Park, POD and such).

I'd never heard of them until a week ago when I saw them open for Slayer and SoulFly.

Am looking for their older stuff as well as picking up the latest.

Kinda reminded me of Maiden from around 87 or so.

Since Guns couldn't produce more than two quality albums, I think they're disqualified. What about Zeppelin. They're a little more classic rock, but without them you don't have any Metal bands. For some heavy shit, be sure to check out Sabbath, as if that needs to be said.

tough call
Slayer is my favorite, but I'd have to stick Venom in there as they were a big influence on the thrash/speed/death metal bands that came out of the early 80's (even Metallica site them as an influence) Metallica for being the heavy band that really broke through (but their latter stuff hasn't really done much for me, although would be hard to top "Master of Puppets"...that would like Slayer trying to top "Reign In Blood"), in my glam days, nothing was better than Motley Crue (especially "Shout At The Devil").....then for the true classics, you'd have Black Sabbath, Blue Cheer and Iron Butterfly (I don't consider Led Zepplin "metal" rather they are hard blues) and of course the grindcore godfathers "Napalm Death"......

sadly, they kind of peaked with their classic "Keeper Of The 7 Keys: Part 1". That album was a classic and their later albums, while technically better, just didn't catch my attention as much....

I listen to Slayer, Black Sabbath, old school Metallica, Pantera, Ozzy, shit like that...

And who in the hell would classify GNR as metal? Too funny...

We have that same butt toy. My gal complains about the seam irritating her. I took a look at it and it sure enough had a pretty nice bit of excess plastic where the molds came together. Doesn't it scratch you up in there?
