What backup program do you use?

I had been using Norton Ghost for quite some time but I've finally had enought of it, it's a pain in the ass to uninstall

What other backup programs are worth using?

Got a few Coatsy, depending on what type of backup is needed.

All boxes have Second Copy on em as standard installs - this is OK for backing relatively small amounts of crucial data - like OS stuff, My Docs bullshit - and very useful for quick backups during software development. Tho also used this for reasonable volumes of data and it may be slower, but works fine.

Next level is the begining of "real backups" and using a few different progs - but may be worth checking out "No Hands Backup" or NHB. Use this for larger volumes on individual boxes and network backups.

For total mirroring of drives on a sector by sector basis - ie capturing everything including the OS - use Acronis disk mirroring. If you got a relatively current Acronis mirror and your drive screws up, it only needs a new drive installed and takes 20 mins to completely rewrite your "homestead" to it's original state (and no need to start installing a load of programs again).

Acronis True Image 10. Backed up 63 gig in an hour to an external drive and worked like a dream for me. Does incremental backups too.

Excellent! Thanks man, I will check those out

I think Acronis is exactly what I'm looking for, it sounds very similar to Norton Ghost (but it's probably a lot better)

I use Cobian backup 8. The program is free and very simple to use.
