Then it is the host's responsibility to figure out which account holder is causing the issue and remove them.

It isn't rocket science.

Yes, I have said that I would have to setup manually in another thread.

The signup script is acting up... So I decided to evaluate if I stay with that script, or if I do a Competitive upgrade to AWBS ( they al;so have a wap signup section ).

Automated signup will be back on Wednesday.

Amazingly, when it was up, eveybody wanted to signup thru ICQ and email.... Go figure.

Note to the idiot : the box is up .....

BTW, when have you seen a thread saying that GotWebHost ( baddog ) virtual accounts are down ???

Not a fucking time as I recall ...

So go do whatever you do ....

It's worth bringing up DreamHost's new "private server" plan. A virtual server where you buy CPU and RAM. I guess that would mean a script is forced to stay within the account limits.

VPS is a good option for some.

Because blowing an extra 40-50 a month is worth being up for an extra hour or two in a month? Please.

I am prepared to accept "some" downtime, this is an entertainment business, people will return later. We're not saving lives here.

I don't need a dedicated box just yet - i'm getting close, I know it - but to say everyone should have dedicated is just stupid and not cost effective.

This is my rule of thumb. My hosting costs shouldn't take more than 20% of my overall revenue in a month, if it does, I need to be re-evaluating my package.

Im sure that'll be great until they oversell that crap too...

Are they still having power issues? Core routers dropping like clockwork? Sheech... glad I moved out of there... my revenue doubled the month I moved my shit off that server.

Epass also .... but since epass is not integratable to the signup script, it has to be manual ...

As for hosting, it is space , not adult pics ... space is space ....

That statement is total Bull Shit. I started years ago on a virtual with www.techiemedia.com and I never had a single problem. I have grown from that small virtual to 6 dedicateds now and push around 300+ megs, still with Techie Media. These guys are old school hosting gurus and simply rock whether it's a virtual or a dedicated. It's all about the quality and skills of the host, not just whether it's a virtual or a dedicated.:2 cents::2 cents:

give up trying to be a friggin hosting company until you can actually get your hosting set up right

like I said I was ready to sign up this morning and didn't because of all the errors and no message saying why the errors were there.

give it up til you can get it right

Absolutely Sly, but the thread title is "Webair virtuals down again" instead of the guy saying his site is down.

I'm not saying they haven't had an issue here and there. The problem with Webair is that they have a huge number of accounts. Big accounts and small.

Unlike the other hosting companies they have continued to market to the boards which has brought them a mass amount of small guys who tend to fuck things up with their virtual hosted servers and cry about it on the boards.

The other hosts have gotten wise to that. That's why they don't advertise as much as they used to. I'm sure that all of you that have been around for a while have noticed that. The other big hosts don't really want the little guys that eat up $100 worth of support every month for a $9.99 virtual plan due to the small webmaster's fuck ups. Unfortunatly that's what comes from being so visible on GFY. I can't say I blame them.

idiot ...

UPTIME is the first and most important thing in hosting .... If it isn't up ... it isn't good....

Databases worked ( joomla -as an example- on my site worked, and it is db driven ).

The WHM Autopilot script was having problems ... connecting to one db ....

Amazing how a fucking signup page gets all yout thong in a bunch .... Imagine if I was down like some hosts here....

I am gone from here .

Jace 09-09-2007 08:25 PM

see, i seriously doubt it just because of how hosts have to buy ip's...can you give me an example of your ip setup? you don't have to post real ip's, just change a few numbers here and there so I can get an idea

Juicy D. Links 09-11-2007 05:59 PM

They have more than 50 virtual servers....

I visited Mikes DC in NYC and it was massive , then the other ones also are bigger.... Some of ya arent aware on how big Webairs operations and such are, I saw one DC firsthand.

Second virtuals go down it happens i cant say anything about that , could be any reason. Few peeps can bring down certain boxes/clusters whatever bu abusing it with scripts oro whatever i aint too technical.

My boxes are at Webair and I am fine. One in a while if things go wrong i call or get somene and its fixes right away.

Word up

And fyi all ya other hosting vultures show some professionalism just my 2 cents

Violetta 09-11-2007 06:14 PM

I love the webair virtuals!
