This thread is great, although it is not without its problems.

First, you claim that I wouldn't add you as a friend. In reality, Jim was on my friends list for quite some time.


Jim stated that he found my site after hearing me give it out verbally. First, how would he have known I was lying about having a porn site before ever visiting my profile. He would have had to have known some information about me to claim that I was lying, unless his whole account is fictitious. This seems likely, since I never verbally tell people my myspace URL. Instead, I tell them to search for 21 year old male atheists, or I write it down, as most people wouldn?t remember the spelling of deathmunkee. Even if we assume that Jim did do the aforementioned search, does this not seem like an awful lot of trouble to go through just to argue with ?the gayest little bitch on myspace?, and it doesn?t explain how he would have known I was lying before visiting my page.

Concerning the claim that I have claimed to have ran a porn site, nowhere on my myspace site does it say that I run a porn site, nor have I ever made such a claim either on my page, or verbally. I'm not originally from the same area as Jim, I'm from near the South Bend area, rather close to the University of Notre Dame. Why would I move to a much smaller town; a town with a all male college, to recruit females for a porn site? I think any town whose strip club has the nickname ?a touch of crabs? pretty much disqualifies itself from that industry.


I think the real issue here is Jim being sore about how our last conversation ended. The last time we had any correspondence was May 23. My point here is, if you have more to say, or have formulated better arguments since then, why not just post them there?

I've had requests to do a blog on atheism and naturalistic philosophy. I think this is a good starting point. This argument is what "The Handbook of Christian Apologetics" calls "the only argument for atheism". The study of this problem is what is known as theodicy. Before giving you some possible solutions and refuting them, I will let this stay up for a week or so and see what kind of responses I get. I urge atheists to examine this argument and apply the same strict logic you would apply to any other argument and see if this is really air tight

Here are two formulations of the argument.



"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?"



If God exists, then God is omnipotent, omniscient, and morally perfect.
If God is omnipotent, then God has the power to eliminate all evil.
If God is omniscient, then God knows when evil exists.
If God is morally perfect, then God has the desire to eliminate all evil.
Evil exists.

On with the argument..What do you mean "allow"? The universe was created with a set of laws that govern such things as disasters, disease and the like. If you'd take the time to actually read the bible you'd understand why all that is as such. Using natural disasters, or famine, or disease as an argument to disprove the existance of God is absurd.I would encourage you to do some research on the Laws of Thermodynamics; specifically the Kelvin Planck Statement. When carefully thought about, that produces some VERY interesting insight into the nature of the Universe and the necessity for there to be some sort of God type being.I highly doubt you'll grasp it though.
