    Breast implants: is 17 too young?

    I saw an ep of Dr. 90210 where a 17 year old girl had her boobs done. She kept going on about how "pretty girls don't need boobs because they're pretty, but I'm not pretty" so she obviously had some self esteem issues (she actually is attractive). 2 months later she seemed a lot happier........ but is 17 too young to be having that kind of work done? She'd also had a nose job just before doing her boobs.

                          I don't know, I guess it depends on the person. Plastic surgery should be about making yourself feel better, and if that boosts her confidence up and makes her a happier person, I say good for her.

                          It's better than the alternative of her becoming more and more miserable and becoming a drugy.

                                      17 is on the edge, but here's the alternative if you are the parent and you have had multiple talks with her about it.

                                      Either you are involved and make sure she does it intelligently and safely, or you wait until she is 18, doesn't research properly, gets a botched job and then needs surgeries to repair the work.

                                      Why do some of you automatically think child abuse or parental issues? Maybe very small breasts run in both families.. there could be lots of reasons. If the doctor did a thorough history and wasn't a quack, then no 17 isn't too young, but it is certainly a case by case question.

                                          Think of it this way -- once the swelling stops and the post-op checkup looks good, she'll be 18 and ready to use them legally!

                                                                          Yes 17 is too young since their breast are still not yet fully developed, at one point on/off I wanted implants, and now 22 my breast are growing 2 cups sizes from just changing my diet and exercise.

It doesn't sound like much but they do look noticeably fake. That's the problem with implants: they look great when you're wearing clothes, but once the supporting bra comes off and they stay in the exact same horizontal position it's all over.

I think the mom is so wanting to live through her daughter it's not even funny. sick. 18 and if she buys them is fine by me. Parents paying for them at that age is just crazy. Her other daughter got a tummy tuck, lipo and a boob job around the same time. That's 3 purely cosmetic surgery sessions mum has paid for within the space of a couple of months.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      My honest opinion is that there are a few cases in which breast implants make sense: breast cancer, seriously lopsided boobs, after having children, being less than an A cup, and after losing a massive amount of weight.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      I don't understand girls who get implants when they already have B cups and have never had children. They're so much better natural!
