and well i quote - also this is nothing about the person who made the post or anything like that.


"Do you think terrorists will attack or wait a few days after till our gaurd is down? i seriously have a friend who is ordering stuff from ALLIED SURPLUS SALES. He thinks paper money will be worthless, the only thing that will be good is water, canned goods, gas, gold, and ammo....."


More about ....your fucking joking me if you People that have a GUN in your house and your going to do a God Dam thing if there is a Attack...like 9/11. I love the hole idea that ....ya things hit the fan there is no food or water and blah blah...but i have a GUN...just let some one try and come to my house for Water or Food....YA fucking Right....the one thing that turns my stomach about you guessed it America is you gun owning save my home and family freaks.

If shit hit the fan...you really think your going to start shooting people who may really need some help ? Have you even shot a Deer or other animal....Because I would really think shooting another person is just not that easy. I'm not sure what you're on about, or who you've been talking to, but I'd rather have a gun in my possession than be without... especially if the shit's hitting the fan.

There are other people that live with me that look to me for protection, regardless of the circumstances.

A gun is a tool to secure that protection. Maybe you've never had others depend on you in that fashion, and can't relate.

There's no tough-guy routine - no delusion of grandeur or anything like that about it. it just is. This thought isn't something I take lightly... it's a very serious matter, and I've made sure I'm trained in proper use and am of above-average skill if it ever comes to using a gun.

Could I kill? Absolutely. I've yet to, but if I ever did point a gun at another person, I've already made the decision to end his or her life, and would most likely attempt to.

I sincerely hope I'll live the rest of my life without it ever coming to that, though.

once when living in an apartment in hollywood a gun fight broke out next door in a neighboring apartment. boy did I feel stupid not having a gun. I won't ever have that feeling again.

Just because you think you would find it hard to take a life, don't automatically assume everyone else is the same way. More than a few of us have military backgrounds and have been forced to make that decision on more than one occasion. I can only speak for myself, but I would imagine very few of the others had a problem pulling the trigger when the time came. Never assume that you couldn't take a life if your life and the lives of loved ones are in jeopardy.

They failed at creating a peaceful society without gun violence so nobody else can do it. They failed at public education so nobody else can do it. Your 9/11 example isn't good. The footprint of 9/11 was small and didn't have an actual effect on anyone outside of the terror strike.

Look at what happened during Hurricane Katrina. The entire city of New Orleans was in total chaos and the police had absolutely no control. Emergency dispatchers were telling callers to defend themselves because the police would not be coming.

I'm not interested in the number of firearm related homicides. What I am interested in is a law-abiding citizen who wishes to own a gun to protect him/herself but can not because of some ridiculous law.

Guns level the playing field. Tell me, what happens if a 6'5" 250 lb man decides he wants to rape a 5'1" 100 lb woman in Australia? He can do it without a weapon. Here in the US, she can pull a gun and kill the attacker.

It's a matter of personal preference. If you don't want a gun, don't buy one (not that YOU could). Personally, I will always own at least one. I'm glad I live someplace where I still have that option.

If someone was attempting bodily harm to me or someone I knew (I don't care about material items), I would be happy to call myself a "murderer". Unless you live in ghetto type areas, your chances of ever being around gun violence is very slim. Even hearing a gunshot in your neighborhood is something that just doesn't happen.

Public education in the US is just fine. The issue is that school funding comes from local tax dollars. They put tax referendums on the voting ballots, and certain areas vote them down year after year. So their local school system never improves. That's not to mention the kids in these areas are not interested in learning anyway.

This one I'll agree with you on, but the US would have a serious problem in paying for it. The people who need it the most would never be able to carry their share of the tax burden. The lower class and Mexican illegals would contribute almost nothing in funding such a plan. It would be the people who currently have insurance that would pay for the system to work. And chances are, the taxes to fund the system would be higher than their current insurance rates. I think the tipping point for public health in the US is the illegal Mexicans. You take them out of the picture and it probably works.

This is a very good point. Your right about the 9/11 example.

However ya for Katrina...that would have been great if even more people would have had guns. Reason then there would have been less of them to save. See if more of the Katrina Victums would have had guns...they could have all shoot each other....and then BUSH could have looked much much better.

If someone needs help, and you cant offer it, then they might as well take it from you. Maybe youd suffer to death, but most people will not
