Meg's is the deepest most people have ever seen. If you look at her from the side it goes about 1/4 of an inch over her actual nose. I have to put Optisomething in there about once a week. Her tail has also won her "curliest tail" at every pugfest - it's a double roll and so tight it leaves an indentation in her back hairs, lol. Besides being deaf and with cataracts, she still runs around like crazy and still goes up and down stairs on her own. It's pretty funny to watch her fight The Puppy when he tugs on her cheeks.

The other 3 barely have rolls at all. Riley probably has the curliest tail of the three and Ariel's barely curls at all. :1orglaugh

And Ariel is my watch dog since Meg has gone deaf/blind. Funny how the girls are more protective then the males.

Jello really broke out going into this most recent heat. We've now gone to daily face washing with a wash cloth, and it seems to have helped...regardless of how much she fights it

There's got to be at least 20 pugs owned by GFYers, so a group really isn't out of the question.

We'll have TONS of pics Peaches. On my list of things to do today is buying a domain name to use for blogging the entire process.

Parker has a sizeable one and she hates me cleaning it. Next to having her nails clipped (which is a nightmare) the ridge clean is the biggest fight we have. She gets messy ears now and then and she will let me clean them out no problem but the ridge is a no go area.

I registered parkerthepug.com the day we went and picked her out..I pretty much never update it now but in the run up to actually picking her up it was my therapy when I was having a hard time waiting. I really do need to update it though.

I went to a vet and I'm beginning the discipline process... I put him in the cage and he is crying...poor thing I feel so terrible.

That's an easy one to break. I've learned a ton from the Dog Whisperer shows and books. Definitely something to look into if you've never had a puppy before.

He misses his mom...that is something that nearly always happens for the first few nights. Parker didn't do it but my spaniel cried for three nights and then was fine.

I'm surprised that someone let them go at least two weeks too early. You could always go back and pick up one of his siblings. Two is always more fun and they'll have someone to keep company.

Except for The Puppy who was actually 4 months old when I got him, all mine have been adults. But I can remember getting puppies as kids and for the first several nights my parents would put a hot water bottle and a ticking clock in their beds so they'd "feel" like their mother was still there.

Hell, I don't even know if they sell hot water bottles or ticking clocks any more!!

Yeah, dogs should be in pairs if you can do it...we got Maggie three days or so after Parker and it was a good thing to do. They are best buds and I think Parker would have been too lonely on her own as they are such sociable dogs.

They sell puppy pillows that have something in them that sounds like a heart beat..lol

Even though I was working at home and my son was playing with Ferd, I got Meg because he wanted to play ALL THE TIME.

I didn't realize how much Ariel was missing out hanging with the geriatrics until I got Riley - now they play together all day long. I really wish I had a video camera handy. Riley on his back chewing on her making all kinds of strange noises until she finally starts chasing him around the room, him hiding underneath the furniture, her looking for him, him jumping out at her and the chasing beginning again.....what's even better is if one of the old dogs is in they way - the younger ones will either go under or over it :thumbsup

Watching them today I have to agree with Warchild - they are like cats. They scratch before and after they pee (Ariel after she poops too) and use their front paws like a cat does. Of course, someone mated the cat with a pig somewhere down the road which explains their odd eating habits, flat noses and curly tails. :thumbsup

For some reason, people seem to pay big money for these "designer" breeds. It's a cute dog, but I just don't get it. The pet store at my mall had a Pug-Chin mix that they wanted $899 for. And I'm sure they'll have it sold by Monday.
