Anyone know if - WELL DUNN - is dead?

Pretty fuckin pissed off here... He listed a MAC laptop for sale https://gfy.com/fucking-around-and-business-discussion/741559-selling-17-g4-powerbook-yoooooo.html and I decided he seemed above the board and trustworthy.

Paid him via PayPal.... no computer.. no followup.. no refund!!!!

Can't raise him via ICQ... has he changed his nick? Anyone have any website info on him so I can send him email to the webmaster?

Is he dead? Is he a fuckin deadbeat? Does anyone know how to get a hold of him???

I am going to keep bumping or making new threads until I get this resolved.

BTW.. yes I have emailed GFY admin and they don't feel like responding either!

GFY needs a Hall of Shame Forum which provides a list of deadbeats, thieves, scammers, spammers, and other assorted scoundrels, so that others will know to steer clear of them...

That's a great idea but I wonder what the ramifications would be. One way to make it safer would be you only can sell on the buy /sell forum and you have to pay 30 bucks a year to start a new threads there. One of the photography boards I belong to has that and it seems to work for them.

Seems like a great idea.... I have made a claim via PayPal and now my mission is to see if GFY can help me out (doubtful) and find a way to get the funds back.

just out of curiosity, what made you decide that he was "above the board"?

Yeah.... good question... Membership on GFY since Sep 2005 (wasn't a newbie)... had 1,000 posts... looked at a good sampling of posts and nothing nefarious showed up. Talked to him on ICQ probably 15 times before I decided on the purchase... everything seemed on the up and up.

My mistake obviously

well done.. fucked over.. out of pocket... all bad things..

Maybe I will just start the scammer/thief/asshole post and keep bumping it to the top... we can add names as appropriate as needed unless we can get GFY to create a fresh forum for it... known scammers could be on a sticky at the top and posts below it for items for sale.

it's been the same since 2001... always been scammers here and every other board out there. The more people on a board, the more scammers.

2005 is a noob and 1,000 post in a short amount of time too. Those should be flags if anything

You would be suprised at the amount of trash roaming here

You only have 30 days to appeal on paypal. You can always reverse it if he does end up shipping it.

Albeit, high probability that he's not a webmaster.. not one single post whatsoever showing a url to any site, no domain deals, traffic trades, links requests, nothing.. He was an emailer as you see several posts regarding email traffic, & apparently a heavy gambler whom went MIA, sometime towards end of July.

Well I am newer than 2005 and less posts than that, but I don't act like 95% of the noob's and spammers and trolls... I guess I just mis-judged the whole thing.

Yeah.. the idea of the gambling has hit my thought processes as well.

well, lately I have just noticed it being more and more prevalent.....I have been on here a few years now and only in the last 5-9 months or so have I noticed scam/fraud threads popping up every single day...

but yes, as a board grows everything grows with it, and gfy just keeps growing, that is for sure

I like the idea. It would help discourage scammers from ongoing scams and may help unsuspecting victims form getting ripped off.
