question about adwords
saw this posted on a newsgroup
Hi all, I tried google adwords for the first time on friday. It seems to work really well, I have had many new visitors over the weekend. Unfortunately I haven't made any sales yet, and the adwords cost is mounting up. To reduce costs (ie clicks) while still building up awareness I was thinking of trying an ad like this: NEW - PRODUCT Please don't click here, it costs us. Visit... www.DOMAIN.com Perhaps the precise wording would need work.

Jajjaa.. very nice!. That would definitively raise awareness....
Also, make sure you are targeting "long tail keywords" only, otherwise this awareness campaign will cost you an arm and a leg. Highly filtered/targeted ad groups (grouping) will give you good results as well..... Good luck mate!

Make sure to study your competitors ads for the same keywords that you are competing for and don't duplicate them. Stand out with something unexpected like "You know you wanna."

not sure but I bet the reverse psychology would happen and you would get alll kinds of people clicking just for the sake of clicking that won't do you any good other than costing you money

plus, if you ever were successful with that strategy and ended up with a high impression to click ratio then google would make your click price sky high and you wouldn't get good placement with your keywords either
