He certainly doesn't possess any skills in the art of acting.
But having said that, he obviously has that illusive "it" factor that makes people want to see his movies. Who knows what that "it" is? If we did we could all be stars.
Same in the music industry. You can go to any show here in Vegas and see people who are EXTREMELY talented singers and musicians. Yet, folks with very mediocre talent are millionaire superstars. It's just that "X-factor" that you can't quite put your finger on and you can't teach it or learn it.
Reeves obviously has that "it" Just as Brittany Spears must have "it" Same reason that some people are just plain out like-able. They enter a room and you just like them for some reason. Other guys can be as polite and nice and bend over backwards for you...but for some reason you can't stand 'em. lol
Hell, I went and saw the Earth Stood Still movie the day it came out. I was bored and took the kids. And I saw it because he was in it. I figured it would be something nice to do with the kids and would be a good diversion for a couple of hours of entertainment. And it was. :)
