Anyone ever notice any paid traffic discrepancies?

I've been testing the waters of paid traffic by purchasing small amounts of traffic from a few of the different big traffic sellers. With one of them I noticed a discrepancy between how much was supposed to be sent (and reportedly sent) vs. the amount shown by Google Analytics as well as our other counter. According to the traffic company stats, 7,000 hits were sent between Aug 26 and Aug 31. However, Analytics only shows 3,066 visits resulting in 3,507 page views. Has anyone else seen anything like this before? I'm trying to figure out if there could be some valid explanation before I confront them with this...

if its skimmed traffic, a lot of people close the browser before a click is registered on the receiving site...

In general paid traffic is shit...having worked for several companies that had HUGE campaigns & deals setup with said companies & having seen the results.

Thats not to say others experiences aren't different....having said that.
