never had a problem with dell but i did just buy the girlfriend a mac she seems to love it

Get a Mac. I finally gave up on Windblows after many bad experiences and I haven't been sorry yet. Had a few Dells, had a compaq and a Toshiba and they all had major problems. You can't go wrong with Apple.
