How can you be dirty enough to not notice a tick for long enough that it can do that kind of damage? I even find them on my dogs faster than that.

lol @ dirty enough... it was 31 dec '06 that i was bitten and removed the gross fucker too (very disgusting experience might i add)... next day went to the doc and he said it was allright... but the bite mark never healed, and i lost every last bit of trust in doctors a few years ago because of reasons i dont even share with family or closest friends. Thats why i never went to the doc again.

Interesting, have you probed it with a pin or something to see if you can find something that does not belong, like a big festering pocket of puss that is the leftover remains of a tick head?

It sure in the hell aint lyme disease if after a year the only issue is a sore that has not healed. That is not a symptom of lyme disease.

                      Probably just a cyst.

                      Go to a doc, imho.

But if you're not gonna do that, do as ASM suggested... put a needle to a flame for a few seconds... rinse/cool it with rubbing alcohol, and lance the fucker.

Be standing by with some cotton balls, hydrogen peroxide, rubbing alcohol, antibiotic ointment and a band-aid.
