Hang in there buddy! Smoking sucks, I recently fell off the wagon after quitting but will be getting back on shortly :)

All the best to you

Quitting is possible.
I started smoking Chesterfields at 12 and quit when I joined the Army at 18. It was tough and I still feel the cigarette in my hand after drinking a couple of beers almost 40 years later. But, I'm still an ex-smoker. |
You'll be back
|
Good luck staying quit

:1orglaugh I used to bet money on people who were quitting. I stopped doing that because the ones I had faith in always smoked again, and the ones I thought would cave for sure ended up staying quit. :( |
I'm going on week 2 and feel great !!!
|
I quit over 20 years ago and I swear there's still a pull when I'm stressed or drinking.
I had to go the ER last night (law of gravity - if you're carrying 8 things, the heaviest will fall and land on your foot) and I filled out very basic info - just name and address. The doctor starting go through it and said "Smoker - no". I said "I never told you I wasn't a smoker!" He said at my age, they can tell right off the bat if you're a smoker or not. So for all you youngsters out there, it DOES show up as you get older :) |
Ok well....day 3....& I'm still smoke free. Last night i had 2 urges that were real bad...i satisfied them with a premium cup of ramen noodles :1orglaugh
dear god my fat ass is going to gain 30lbs! |
60 hours in, how do you feel :)
|
All da bezt to you, dude!
|
What's up man. Be strong... If you question yourself when you have a urge/craving and you're not taking mind altering substances, then you should be able to control yourself and do what you need to do.
Keep it up, mate! 24 hours in here. |
This helped me a bit,
20 minutes: Your blood pressure and pulse rate return to normal 8 hours: Oxygen levels in your blood return to normal. 24 hours: Carbon monoxide has been eliminated from your body. Your lungs start to clear out mucus and other smoking debris. 48 hours: There is no nicotine left in your body. Your ability to taste and smell is greatly improved. 72 hours: Breathing becomes easier. Your bronchial tubes begin to relax and your energy levels increase. (You might be able to piggyback her here already LOL( 2-12 weeks: Circulation improves throughout the body, making walking and running a whole lot easier. 3-9 months: Coughs, wheezing and breathing problems get better as your lung function is increased by up to 10%. 5 years: Heart attack falls to about half that of a smoker. 10 years: Risk of lung cancer falls to half that of a smoker. Risk of heart attack falls to same as someone who has never smoked. ------------- had it printed out and taped on the wall beside me. Plus i had a widget counter from google or yahoo on my desktop, which counted the milligrams of tar and nicotine i did not inhale, just for some days. I stopped 1.5 years ago and I feel 100% better. Good Luck, Don't Give Up |
Pleasurepimp... good post.
pr0, man don't give up. Hang in there. |
I quit cold turkey on February and all I got was appendicitis. My lungs are OK though.
|
