Hockey Fans, Make your predictions here!

SO the season is starting soon, the camps are starting up and we are getting a first look at all the new players. I'm still really unsure as to who's going to take it this season.... alot of teams have done a complete facelift... but on that note... I love my Leafs! But I also am realistic.. they will make playoffs with the changes they've made but they won't win the cup, without a miracle.

Anyways hear are my top picks to take the Stanley cup

1. Penguins
2. Sharks
3. Ottawa
4. Rangers
5. Leafs

& Here are the vegas odds Last Time I checked.
Western Conference:
Ducks 11-2
Detroit 8-1
San Jose 11-1
Vancouver 14-1
Colorado 18-1

Eastern Conference:
Ottawa: 6-1
Buffalo 10-1
Rangers 11-1
Pittsburgh 14-1
Toronto 20-1

Top 5 including wild card.

1. Vancouver Canucks (VERRRRY BIASED opinion)
2. Colorado Avalanche - if they can mesh their new talent with their old, they will do awesome.
3. Pittsburgh Penguins - If they can make a trade for a veteran at the deadline they will be well prepared.
4. Ottawa Senators - Last year was no fluke, the west is just too powerful for them, if they can get some 2nd line scoring going they will be insane.. again.
5. Phily Flyers - Wild card pick, Brierre is better than people think, they also TURNED it on at the end of last season.

I'd have to take a look at the off season roster changes to make any actual predictions. The only thing I can safely say is the Leafs will miss the playoffs yet again. Of course, anyone with any hockey knowledge will tell you that. Which is why I expect Evil Chris to come in and tell us all how GREAT the Leafs will be this year.

Leafs?? You're kidding right?

As for Montreal, unfortunately, we wil have to settle once again for an above average team...

Toronto's last cup: 1967
Montreal's last cup: 1993

the west is a million times better yet you have almost all east teams...Sens ran over everyone in the east and got KILLED in the finals. Detroit and SJ would have also killed them obviously.

Well the simple fact is no matter how good the west is... only one team will come out of it! & I'm 80% sure that team will be San Jose so thats the only pick i need to make. The west to me really isnt that strong... sure the teams are good.. but the east has made alot of ground lately with good pickups and being able to keep there good players. I really think an east team is going to take it this season.

& as for the leafs to be honest... no one can give a actual opinion on them, because there is to much love and hate on them. just because they have such a huge fan base and as much money as they do. I put them at 5 on my list.. so I'm not saying they will definitely win the cup! You know what I will for sure tell you they will make playoffs though. They picked up an amazing goalie in toskala which will take the weight of an already good goalie Raycroft. So that there gives us a pretty decent 2 goalie tandem much like SJ had last year. I know I will take heat for saying that just because people love to hate the leafs but it's true. Then on top of that we picked up bell.... sure he had a bad season previously but he has the ability to put up some good points on the second line and is an improvement on oneil. As well sundin actually will have someone on his wing that can pot in the puck in Jason blake... I call that a huge improvement.

It's too hard to predict where the Ducks will end up with Niedermayer and Selanne still not officially having announced their retirement, but if they both retire as expected to than I say the Ducks will finish 2nd in their division and make the playoffs and have a decent shot at a repeat.

If either or both return, then I say the Ducks have the best chance at a Cup repeat of any team in the past decade.

I predict hockey will be just as lame this year, as it was last year, and the year before that and the year before that.....

Hockey's lame. Football starts in 9 days though!!!!

I laugh every year the leafs think they will win the cup.. Now they have San Joses backup and they think they will make a splash ;).

Bottom line is they have 16.4 million dollars tied up in their top 3-d, and it includes Kubina and Mccabe.. there are huge problems to come

1. Canucks (if they can secure one more top 6 scorer)
2. Rangers - lineup looks very solid
3. Ducks - Especially if Nieds comes back
4. Senators - Last chance at the can
5. Penguins - Lots of young talent and if Fleury improves could go a long way.

And Atlanta has a couple of excellent offensive players there as well. Would be a fun team to watch.

I think they had the worst odds in the east this season. Not to sure though.. then again odds mean nothing... trades can happen etc.
