My observations based on never hearing this song before. 1. Even though I had never heard it before, the sound immediately screamed out "Rush." 2. I can appreciate how a fan would enjoy their concert. 3. The best thing about the drum solo is that everyone else stopped playing. :2 cents: I wasn't sad that ended abruptly. Glad you enjoyed the show, shoehorn. Looks like they put on a nice visual. Drop any L? :winkwink: |

I saw Rush at their peak in the mid-70's, and their performance of 2112 live was one of my favorite live music performances ever. The show I saw was in Japan, and they had a quad-like sound system set up, so the music played from 360 degrees, which produced some great effects.
Check out this live version of 2112 on YouTube: 2112, Part 1 2112, Part 2 2112, more recent concert footage - seems like the crowd was into it I still get goosebumps at about 3:05 in on the first part when the lead riff kicks in... ADG |

I have their Chronicles 'greatest hits' album. I've never been a huge fan but I can appreciate their musicianship. It's more along the lines of 'math music' where you listen for the sheer beauty of the complexity and diversity of each score rather than sing-along enjoyment, for me. They're certainly among the best of prog rock. Would be a pretty amazing live show.
