Where?

If it's New York you may want city because you can have city and bridge views. That's waay cooler than the ocean from Brooklyn.

If it's LA then Ocean. No doubt.

Miami... Ocean is nice, but again, city comes with Biscayne bay and downtown views which are damn nice and more enjoyable over time.

So, where are you going?

munki 08-28-2007 12:52 AM

Go for the ocean...

calibra 08-28-2007 12:57 AM

Sometimes city view isn't so bad. It depends on where.

Not my photography but both shots were taken right outside of my building in Brooklyn.

Pornwolf 08-28-2007 02:16 AM

Here's Miami's city view at night:

That's much more interesting than a plain ocean view IMHO.

Let me know if I'm wrong. Maybe I'm just a city guy.

irinasp 08-28-2007 02:59 AM

i think we should alternate ocean an city views because it's possible to go crazy when you view the same thing too often!!!!

Sarah_Jayne 08-28-2007 03:05 AM

City but a city on a nice body of water is best. I am a people watcher so the city would never get boring.

miroz 08-28-2007 03:13 AM

Ocean of course!

PersianKitty 08-28-2007 10:19 AM

I'm kinda partial to my view..

Even at night there's tons of lights and even shipping traffic on the water.

Don't mind this one when I want to get away for a few days..

riabanana 08-28-2007 10:47 AM

Ocean view for me. Gives me peace after a long day's work :P

LilBro 08-28-2007 10:48 AM

might be moving to Upper West Side so I looked at a few places on the Hudosn river and a few that are closer towards central park. completely different views....

I am even contemplating the move to Hoboken, NJ (its on the Hudson river as well). Commute to office in Woodbridge NJ would be about 10 mins to an hour less depending on traffic at the tunnel to get from NY to NJ lol....

Did you check out Edgewater? It's kinda the best of both worlds.

I agree completely. I live a very short 2 blocks from Ocean Beach San Francisco. I try to take a walk out there at least once daily.

For me simply staring out at the ocean is a huge stress relief.
