              My mage and rogue have been suffering from lack of PT... but tit happens...

              I guess consider this thread WowJacked... my bad...

              Let me know how CIV is... will be nice to step away from WoW soon, and give something else a spin for a bit.

                  Yeah I have always been a fan of builder games. With the new expansion this one has really peaked my interest.

                                                      I honestly like Civ 1 and Civ 2 better

                                                      Civ 3 makes it too hard to really a lot with all the social problems in your cities etc

                                                      Civ 4 just....... I dunno develops way too slow

                                                      Civ 2 was the best. Gameplay wise.

                                                                  I wonder why it is we're never happy with the sequels, made so many years later? I mean the list is long...

                                                                  UFO Defense, X-Com TFTD, Civ, Sim City, Covert Ops, Pirates, All sierra games... Starcraft.. Worms was a pretty good take on fuck.... what was it calllled... oh yes.. Scorched Earth! http://www.dosgamesarchive.com/download/game/144

                                                                  Before that I used to love my Amiga 500.. I'm still trying to remember the name of this tank game I used to play, where people would turn into red bloody marks and go "splat" when you ran over them with your tank... ;)

                                                                                  You touched my soul bringing up Xcom. Man that game was so damn awesome. Just one seriously classic game right there. I wish someone could duplicate the Sci Fi magic of that game and put it into an MMO.

                                                                                          Yeah the first X-Com (just called UFO) was fucking fantastic, but when TFTD came out, it solved a few gameplay problems that you just couldn't go back to.. I forget what exactly, but I remember wanting to go back to UFO but not being able to force myself because of the annoying gameplay issues... The SURPRISE of walking around a corner and BANG there's an alien in front of you... In the dark, late at night, with the creepy music... That's what that game was all about.

Look at the reader ratings at that site.. they gave it a 7.4, but the readers gave it a 9.6 over 1,120 votes.. insane. I might have to check it out!

                                                                                              I don't remember what gameplay issues you're talking about... well, there was a waypoint missile problem that was easily worked around, I think... but I do remember is being sorely disappointed at TFTD thinking "it's the same damn game with different skins" and then even being more disappointed on that next version that came out... what was it? Apocolypse?

                                                                                                      I played a demo a while back and just couldn't get into it. CIV III was the first one of the franchise I ever played and it took me 2-3 months of playing to really get the hang of it.
