Two key sentences:
Telephone wagering is not accepted. This website is operated by Jassy Sports Events Limited, Vincenti Buildings, Suite 427, 14/19 Strait Street, Valletta, Malta.

Well, I'm not sure, but I think all those sites are run offshore, no? Most of the big name poker players from the US are in some way affiliated with an online poker site though. Perhaps this is one of those laws where they only intend to prosecute the owners for allowing US players to play as opposed to prosecuting the actual players themselves? I dunno. I've wondered it myself.

It is not illegal to play poker on line. The UIGEA only addresses the funding of accounts. I still play on line every day, as do a ton of other people I know.

You can still fund your accounts via check, some places take Visa along with a variety of other methods.

I suggest if you want to continue to play poker on line, as well as reopen the ability to fund your accounts easily, you join the Poker Players Alliance.

That's just one of over a 100 different places to play poker for money online. It harder now for USA residents to fund gambling accounts, but not illegal to play.

I thought it was something like that, just wasn't sure.

I didn't quite make myself clear. The UIGEA only addresses financial institutions, making it illegal for them to be involved with transactions involving "Unlawful gambling."

Much like 2257 is burdensome for us, this act is the same for them, the government has not even come forth with regulations telling them how they will monitor all these transactions.
