He retired. He has a new album coming out. Think 1 single was released so far. He will be marrying Trisha Yearwood and the duet albums will ensue. He'll explode in popularity again.

Country music is pretty wack, but I could still get into his old stuff even though I'm not a country fan. Who knows, he might bring country out of the gutter. Good luck to him.

I believe Country is actually still the number 1 selling music in the U.S. Gutter? I thinks not.

I think he's sold more albums in America than any other artist.

Btw, for those who hate country and rap. I think those are the two most popular selling genres in America in the past decade. lol. Both pretty much American born and bred styles.

I can't stand country but at least it is music. You can't call rap music...not with a straight face anyway.

He is way up there, but probably not at the top. There are the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and U2 that are probably above him. Garth had a hell of a run and I've seen him live once, he puts on a great show. He sold a lot of records and sold out shows every night for about 5 years, but artists typically don't make all that much on record sales and people like the stones, u2 and paul tour all the time and sell out arenas world wide year after year, not to mention the sheer amount of money they earn on publishing royalties alone.

He will be announcing his "unretirement" this weekend. Expect a single city long run show, possibly Vegas or Branson.

How the fuck has Barbra Streisand sold 71 million records? That stuns and amazes me.
