Just thought I'd mention, re: Autoblogger Pro

Screenshot of my stats console, 9PM EST on August 14th, 2007. Click to make it bigger.

Visitors were 2,040 for November 2006. August 2007 visitors will be about 136,648, based on a daily average of 4,408.

Pages were 9,831 in November 2006. August 2007 pages will be about 383,625, based on a daily average of 12,375.

Autoblogger Pro has been installed for approximately 9 months. I haven't touched it since the day I set it up, just let it do its thing with Multi-User WordPress.

Just thought I'd mention it.

I can't wait to see the combination of ABPSA and Feed Pushers -- it's almost scary.

I'd really like to get more out of my install of ABP. Can publishers put the Feedpushers feeds to work yet? I haven't really looked at things too deeply yet.

Correct. With over 10,000 licensed domains for Autoblogger Pro, we've more than made our money on it. We're still reviewing whether to stop selling it completely or to simply raise the price dramatically.

There are some free alternatives, notably WP-o-Matic, that attempt to replicate Autoblogger's features. Their sales page literally says: "WP-o-Matic aims to provide all the features you can find in Autoblogger PRO software, which retails for $299." It means we've "made it" if we're getting rip offs, right? The sad thing is they're duplicating the OLD Autoblogger, so they're sadly a year behind. I emailed the kid (impressively, he's 15) with an offer of any help I can provide. I've been referring people to his free product, although I haven't tried it.

Strange, after you said this about me: "He's done on this board, after an embarrassing thread like this the best thing to do is just make another nick or disappear." .. in the thread announcing the new Autoblogger Pro. We've come a long way in our non-relationship then, eh?

Unfortunately, the product is either going to stop being sold, or the price will be dramatically increased. If you're looking to go the cheap route, while sacrificing just a few key features, check out WP-o-Matic. It's free.

Thanks much. Yes, I was SHOCKED to learn you weren't using Autoblogger Pro yet. I think you were an RSS2blog guy before they abandoned their product, if I'm not mistaken. Boy, do I not miss the fanboys coming into every thread crying. It's a great feeling to see how much ignorant smack was talked, and who eventually came out on top.

Glad you're enjoying it.

Yes, you can certainly use the Feed Pushers feeds inside of Autoblogger Pro. If you check Lensman's posts regarding the Reality Cash / Feed Pushers launch, you'll see some examples of the how, etc. I have it pulled to some of my blogs, it's looking sweet.

Sounds like a nice project! Take the time to choose GOOD feeds, or you may regret it. I like to send a short e-mail to a feed owner before I pull a feed, and ask if it's ok ... I basically explain what I'm doing, how it'll benefit them, and what the results of such a relationship have been in the past. More often than not, they don't understand what I'm trying to say, and they pass. However, the ones who take the time to read become long-time partners, and it's VERY worth it.

I have deleted all my install of rss2blog...LOL

there are a few features that were in r2b that I would LOVE to see in abp, but overall it is the superior product for sure

michelle has all but abandoned rss2blog, she offers no support anymore....

By the way, those Bang Bros domains you won in the auction expired, I never got an ICQ from you. Check the thread for details.

Ha, well, that'd be a trick and a half. We've always provided free support, during holidays, on the weekends, and even in the middle of the night. A few ungrateful assholes lately have made me reconsider some of the "long term" plans, but expect to see some nice stuff from us late 2007 or early 2008.

Feed Pushers obviously just launched, and a completely new rewrite of Forum Autoposter (like the rewrite to Autoblogger Pro) is in a beta test right now, with some interesting results.

Keep an eye out.

I think it's in the first few results of Google.

I agree with you that a paid script, and everything that entails, is the way for a serious webmaster, but people still claim you can replicate ABP's functions with plug-ins. Usually, it's because they A) haven't used it, and B) are thinking of the old version, which came with WordPress. Both reasons make me laugh at them, but such is the way of the forum troll.

That's sad, in a way. ICQ me with the feature requests. I try to implement everything feasible, but feature requests often end up being good for a single user and horrible for everyone else, hehe.

Yes, there's something like that for Autoblogger Pro power users. Basically what we're doing is making Feed Pushers feeds that can only be pulled by Autoblogger Pro. These feeds will be specifically to reward the users who have supported us through the years. They're both adult and mainstream.

It does what it does pretty well, I like to think.

Just talked to Jace on ICQ ... amusingly, the features he wanted are *in* ABPSA, we just don't show them in the UI -- they're for "power users"

Would one of those be the ability to post out to other blog/cms scripts? I have a few Joomla sites I'd love to post to.

I can't really talk about those features, unfortunately. Most of them are obscured from the UI for a reason. Sorry man!

Um, obviously you are referring to this thread http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showthread.php?t=652574 Show me where in that thread you announced Autoblogger Pro, you didn't. I and the 25 other people made those comments because it was 4 pages of drama hype and you never revealed anything. If you would have come out and professionally announced your acquisition you would have gotten a much better response in that thread. I know you were trying to be cute, but it seem to backfire.

I apologize if I'm not going to lead you through the steps. I'm not trying to be cute here, it's just a matter of "if you don't get it, I'm not going to worry."

It generated the necessary buzz, and reached a great conclusion.

Maybe I was wrong about you being sorry and wanting to move past it.

I guess all I can say is: I'm sorry to hear that you need a discount on Autoblogger Pro. While I have sympathy for those less fortunate and usually try to work something out, no discounts are currently available to you.

Try WP-o-Matic. If money is an issue, it's free. Good luck with it, and ICQ me if you need any help getting the hang of feeds, etc.

Lol, where did I say I was sorry, I didn't say anything incorrect in that thread because you didn't announce anything. I already have several AB licenses, just gonna give the SA a shot and just picked it up, thanks.

I didn't announce anything because the board trolls assumed one thing, and it was another. I just let it die, I wasn't the one bumping it.

The "professional" thread that followed led to the sale of a massive number of licenses, and continues to refer sales to this day.

Glad you have your SA copy, ICQ me if you need help installing, picking feeds, etc. I'll be happy to give you a walkthrough or anything else you need.

Glad you have your SA copy, ICQ me if you need help installing, picking feeds, etc. I'll be happy to give you a walkthrough or anything else you need.
I know you didn't keep it going, we were all anxiously awaiting your info and it never came, hence my comments. I'll probably hit you up if I need some help with SA, we talked a lot earlier this year and exchanged ideas. Are you the only one doing support for SA or is Chio still helping?

I used to be a huge fan of rss2blog but like edgeprod said it has pretty well been abandoned. The ABP fanboys here really made me dislike the script and everyone who had anything to do with it but it's about time for me to swallow my pride and pick up a license.

do it...I used to be a HUGE fan of rss2blog and I can't say I hated on ABP, but my posts were VERY much in favor of r2b...i can admit I was wrong on that one, edge cares so much more about his product and his customers and it shows

I can now see why there were so many fanboys, it really is a great script that does SO much

amazing how times change though, I am now working with edgeprod on www.feedpushers.com ...haha

Chio helps as well, mostly for stuff with the "old" Autoblogger.

How many domains can you install abpsa on? (license)...

And do you have an affiliate program (I have a client or three that might like a few licenses)...

AutobloggerPro is a standalone product that posts out to your blogs

you have one control panel on one domain and you enter in as many domains as you want into that control panel

so, it is unlimited now, you can post out to as many domains as you have

Yes, but it's currently not open for new signups, because of the intention to stop selling or significantly raise the price of ABPSA. I'm sorry.

I tried it once. It was ok, I guess. I'll have to ask Jace about it.

No idea -- it looks like a late-night infomercial. Thanks for the chuckle.
