Very good point. I totally agree with you.

We texted our driver here in the Philippines to come pick us up and he replied "I'm here sir now you can ride me :)" Marc and I hit the floor laughing. Afterwards we explained things to him so he wouldn't do it again.

I had something similar, we were filming at paramount, and we broke for lunch.

I was an assistant to 4 different producers, anyway this particular couple did German commercials, and we were all at the main table eating.

They were talking to the guys from the ad agency, and I was chatting with the lady who repped the product. It was Mars candy bar. Anyway, I was telling her how just 2 hours outside L.A. you could go skiing. She smiles and says..."Oh you want to fuck me."

You could have heard a pin drop. My bosses' jaws both dropped.

What she meant to say was..."oh you are fucking WITH me."

Hehe... na, not fair to laugh at folks who don't speak English well. At least they know a little English apart from their own language - and may know other languages.

Would bet they beat us lazy English speakers when it comes to languages :)

1) In civilized society - NO.
2) Here at GFY - YES for sure! It happens almost everyday when some scumbag has no arguments, he/she is starting to laugh on English of his opponent, calling him an idiot if that guy makes a typo like "<a noun> IS sux" or something like that. That's a very "professional" approach :2 cents:

P.S. English is not my mother language + I'm used to make a lot of typos in my messages.

Vick! 08-17-2007 03:48 AM

Generally, its bad. But sometime, when you cannot hold, its OK :1orglaugh

SPACE GLIDER 08-17-2007 04:09 AM

Yes that's wrong! SHAME!

JayDeeZee 08-17-2007 06:22 AM

I know it was poor form, but still funny.
