Cheques, because they can be put on ice for a month or two if the currency conversion rate is shitty. With wires I have no control over when they are converted.

As an example, in the past 4 days the USD-AUD conversion rate has improved by over 5%. I may not sound like much but when you time every deposit rather than just relying everything (the good and the bad) averaging out over time it can make a significant difference to your bottom line. How easy is it to make extra money just by waiting?
