Way to go there all caps dude.

Can you point me to any affiliate program that gives affiliates the rights to distribute content on sites they don't own? Any?

Megan, you are right. Sorry that our controversial website got in the way. This will be the final comment from XTube within this thread.

XTube is about amateur porn. We can completely cut off and prevent future DMCA violations, and I will outline that in a thread I am authoring right now. If you are interested, you will find it.

Dude, that's what all the tubes, torrent sites, newsgroup sites, filesharing sites, boards, etc say. There are hundreds of them. How are small businesses supposed to monitor them all, and contact them when something goes wrong?

Many adult sites are run by just one or two people. Monitoring all the filesharing sites is a full time job.

yup.

there is no justification.

just like its ethically unacceptable and morally wrong to profit from stolen property, its ethically unacceptable to profit and knowingly support the theft of content through financed piracy. doesn't matter if someone stole your neighbors t.v. and gave it to you to sell for a profit, you're still involved.

fact.

When will the first lawyer step up get a million dollar award for a company against one of these torrent sites? Do you think it will happen, or not?

I have the same opinion of tube sites that I do of the local fence selling stuff that "fell off the truck". You don't have to be too fucking smart to figure out the stuff is stolen.

not torrents, but tubes are in trouble, see viacom versus google / youtube. Google is going to get it hard up their ass.

Just how exactly is PRadult doing anything that would be considered anywhere close to being "bad business?"

I will come back with a setup both system wise and regarding guidelines.
Then we can debate and decide on a which guidelines we'll go with to

It seems that many an honest webmaster has the onus placed on them to get unauthorized material removed from sites that share content.....

Maybe listed/suspected/proven.... whatever, shady business sites should have the onus placed on "them" to show they meet the guidelines to get off the list.

Hoop jumping to get things done can go both ways.

I dont think people went to youtube to see the adverts - they went to upload or view video.....a bunch of that video would have violated copyrights.

Take the copyrighted video away and youtube is a bunch of retards talking into a camera about how life sucks or setting a firework off in their pants.

Sure it would generate traffic, nowhere near as much though...making advertising spots less attractive - and the sale price of youtube would have been way shittier - just a guess

[QUOTE=signupdamnit;12932933]I have to add Naughty America to the good list. They seem top notch and have always been good to their affiliates. Case in point, a few months back where they caught someone using adware and actually returned the sales back to the rightful affiliate refferrers.

So we have (from what I see so far):

--------------------------------------------

Good Business List

1. Shane's World
2. Webair
3. Naughty America
4. AlleyBucks
5.

-add more

Thanks for adding us in.
We fully support the stopping of illegal sharing and downloading of content.
We constantly are at battle with websites looking to rip our content off through these networks. Though hard to police, one site at a time is all you can do for now.
I'm open to any suggestions to help curtail this type of business.

I dont think that's going to happen, A1R3K & Megan are very serious. This shit is getting way out of hand. They are getting bolder and bolder, now charging for sites of content they host. This hurts especially if you want to give quality produce and it has to stop.

The guidelines are in the process of being created. In order for them to be effective (and loophole free) the guidelines will have to be thorough. It's not something that can just be thrown together. As far as the current list, don't worry about it until they are official.

we are going to set up a roundtable here in l.a.

i've already talked to people about setting up an association legally and establishing a board where program owners, affiliates, hosting companies, processors, and anyone else on the legitimate business side.

anyone interested in stopping this crap will be openly invited to participate.

technical people. video specialists. security specialists. content prodcuers. this is an industry problem affecting many many parts of it so it needs to be dealt with on an industry level.

what some people need to get out of their heads is this is not an attack on any one company. this is an industry problem and no one person is singled out. anyone profiting from piracy is in the cross hairs. this is not an airek thing or a shanes world thing, its an industry thing. without industry support it will die and die fast.

come with the money and support to fix the problems. we are all in this together. we must all contribute to it together. personally i would rather have this handled by a non profit neutral association created by the industry through a board and a process in accordance, than through the fsc's interests. they have their hands full with 2257 and the like and i believe that an association that focuses on just piracy may be better suited headed up by content producers and people directly affected by piracy.

these things will take some time.

Might as well start a "Good Affiliate / Bad Affiliate" list while we're at it. If "Affiliate A" wasn't allowed to earn money by advertising on torrent sites, he never would. The torrent site wouldn't exist other than to provide lamer sufers with ways to wack off, or download spyware.

I agree 100%. Nothing against the FSC, but I think this should be handled separately.

Airek and I and a lot of other people are very serious about this.

No it won't happen overnight .. sure we will have some bumps in the road .. but we will "put up" .. as i am sure any one else who cares for this industry longevity will.

This is a huge trickle down effect. For example .. we spend about double to triple the budget on an avergae adult dvd .. because we do something unique. Because it is unqiue we do quite well with the people who dig our "style". Well if it is just free free free all day long on torrent sites/content theft sites, etc... we lose money on dvd and site sales obviously.

But ALSO our affiliates who join up to our program to be able to promote our unique content and spend time on design, direct traffic, trading , etc .. loose out on joins they were working hard for. So then we as a studio in the long run spend less on our movie, the content becomes less and les unique and is over a lot less quality .. (which by the time this happens all the little guys are surely out of biz). Then our affiliates don't have anything unique to push/sell .. and their traffic can get it all for free anyway .. so they don't get joins. so we don't send them checks. so their family stops eating .. then their dogs are straving ... then the world ends because porn is over LOL

OK so i got a bit dramatic and carried away at the end .. but i am sure you get my point =)

xoxo,
Megan

A1R3K, do yourself a big favor on this one: bypass the "industry groups" and go right to the producers. Without saying anything specific, too many of those groups have a vested interest in ignoring the monster under the bed, mostly because their either profit from it or received funding from the people abusing copyright holders.

So, just to make sure I understand . . . you are saying that because YouTube may have some copyrighted materials on their site, and they sell advertising, it is the same as advertising on a torrents site?

Just making sure I understand.

megan and i will be contacting the studios here in porn valley. many of the studios here are interested already. to say the studio and producer attendance will he high at this meeting would be an understatement. i also want to put the power and overall operations control into the hands of those most affected, which are the studios.

First things first. List all companies that profit from the theft of content. If you find evidence of financing piracy or blatant content theft, please post it here. We already know of a few that try to skate on the edges of the law to make a few bucks extra at the expense of others. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PROOF!

meow.

We are in fact going to extend our hand to anyone who wants to take a stand with us and say that we will make every effort to work with any company that wants to help deter the theft of very expensive content.

You don't have to be a content producer. Affiliates are encouraged to help twart the devaluation of adult content as well. After all, in the long run it hurts us all, whether you can see it now or not.

Please help us fight the fight to protect our futures in adult online. I'll get this way more organized here in the short term future, for now this is an idea that I want to see how much support is there for it.

To those that are interested in supporting the cause we will work with you in whatever fashion we can. What we're essentially looking for are committed eyes to police ourself. If we don't do that rest assured that those who feed off of our resources for profit will become that much stronger. For people on the list of industry supporters, we will work together on anything we can from within the circle of people that don't want to be part of the other circle. This industry is segregated on so many other levels, whats another one really going to hurt.

A website will be created to house evidence AND PROOF of those financing piracy.

Thanks for your support. For those of you that think I am beating an animal that feels no pain, stop for a second and think how you would conduct business without content. There are a very very small amount of you that do not rely on content to make a living in some fashion. Really think about it. If tomorrow there was NO content available, would it affect your business?

Your bro card is so revoked it is not even funny.

Good to see you guys step up. It takes seeing it happen to you for people to really grasp what is actually going on and how bad they are getting fucked.

Then why don't you tell us what you are trying to say? I have told you how it is being interpreted.

Shouldn't we also list the hosts who host the sites in question? Cause they profit from it also.
