I was just doing a sort of industry term glossary and was listing terms used for promotion methods..ie tgp, mgp, link lists, etc. Then the term 'pic post' flashed in my head and I had to pause to think about how much I used to use them but how I haven't touched one in a long, long time.

Are there even any good ones still around?

Anyway..made me think..what are some older promo methods that you used to use often but haven't touched in ages?

Maybe even through top lists in there..though I do link to some now and then.

posting a partial picture set to a newsgroup and asking if anyone had the rest of the series to fill in the gaps...of course the pics I posted would be watermarked...was good for some type-ins and once I was "known" in that group I'd say "yo, I tossed up a little archive at geocities.com, check it out" and of course I'd slowly work in a banner or link here and there....until geocities pulled the plug...then move on...hehe

that method doesn't work anymore
