Can US based content brokers legally sell content that they don't have the 2257 documents for?

I ask this because I've heard of a few people doing this and it seems pretty bad to me.

I would presume they could legally sell it, however one in the US would not be able to legally use it. Unless of course it was obviously CP then selling it would not be allowed. However one could sell it if it was produced before that magical date and people in the US could use it with out fear of breaking the law.

This all of course assumes that when you say content you mean actual photos or videos of real people having sex and stuff and not other forms of content.

If you're selling content, you must have docs for it if you're in the US, as you're using the explicit content in a commercial manner thus triggering 2257.

Yes, a US broker can sell content without having 2257s. But a US broker must have the rights to sell that content, which it can have without having the 2257s.

my understandings is that 2257 regs are for publication. I can have content here that doesn't have 2257 if I do not publish it on the net or anywhere else. that doesn't mean I can't sell it. I would say 'buyer beware'

for instance,you come over and have me shooting you fucking your girlfriend. I give you the tape and you leave with it. I don't need 2257's even if I have a copy here at my place to whack off with

that's a good point too. I guess I just thoght it was random for a US broker to be selling "really cheap content without 2257"

of course I stay the hell away from anything like that, just seems like a poor business practice though
