just watched 'the bridge' the small indie film about suicides off the San Francisco bridge. guy sat there for a year and shot footage, caught several. lots of interviews. very well done. one poor bastard slipped trying to climb over the rail to kill himself and fell off, gezz what a way to go, doh!

they had interviews with a guy that jumped and survived, that's what he said. jumped over head first and then thought to himself 'like whoa!! I fucked up' so he turned around and hit the water feet first, almost in a sitting position. fought his way to the surface in bad shape, a seal kept him afloat until he got rescued. pretty amazing really. shattered parts of his lumbar, however no bone fragments went into his heart so he lived.Comment

I dont think most the jumpers all fell into those categories. I was looking forward to the movie but I thought it failed to deliver, just focusing on the Gene guy was a bit boring, they should have looked at it at various angles etc. Amazing how many ppl jump each year though, the cops are never surprises, just another day at the bridge.
You can get it ploughing a paddock, you can get it makin some porn sites, matter of fact I've got it now.

all the jumpers they showed with interviews fit one of the three categories I mentioned. that's how i got the categories actually.
I though the movies was very well done. were you disappointed that 'twister' didn't have a better story too? just curious.Comment
