if your not from the UK i can understand why you dont know who he is, he brought us some of the best UK bands such as the sex pistols, he is basically one of the biggest music ICONS, he basically created the indie music scene...without him there would probally be no morrissey or oasis etc

Seriously? No Doubt is better than Oasis, Nirvana is better than Oasis, Metallica, outside of the genre but still, is better than Oasis. Faith No More is better than Oasis. I can go all day, unless this small list is enough.

Oasis was a bad example but you cant deny groups like The Smiths, The Stones Roses and The Happy Mondays which all came out of that scene (especially the Roses). Im gutted I never got to go to The Hacienda either

i really dislike oasis.. i want to puke when i see them but those bands are not even close to oasis.. seriously, been listening to music, collecting records, making music for years now, the bands you mentioned are typically the stereotypes although even i hate oasis they are much better than these bands.. nirvana is fine kurt is genuise.. i don't usually listen to american bands co's in reality they just a bunch of copycat.. i prefer listening to swedish, spanish, german, euro bands than american bands.. just imo..
