off-shore banking

Who does it?

Is it safe?

Where would you turn for it?

I have an offshore bank account. Very reliable. Try Latvian banks for remote account opening. Also, check this site for all kind of offshore services: http://www.offshoresimple.com

That was not the bank's website. This is the site of an agent who is dealing with all kind of offshore services (including opening offshore bank accounts). They have the best prices. You could also contact a Latvian bank directly. Most of them accept remote opening of the account. Also, they all have internet banking. Search on google for latvian banks.

don't even waste your time with Latvian banks.Latvia is not friendly to offshore biz anymore.Since they are trying to be valueable member of EU they started to close all offshore accounts + keep thier eyes on it.Also once they find out that you are in adult biz you are done - I had accounts in TBK and Rietumu for 4 years there.
Good banks but not reliable now due to what I said above.
The best banks are located in Liechtenstein (got present acc there) + some typical offshore areas as Seychelles (premium banks there) , Bahamas (expensive banks )
Also you can try some of the smaller banks - they are happy to get some good client and will never let you down www.griffonbank.com

I don't see why you would risk it currently. start a company 401k, sack money away interest free, then take after tax money and but rare certified numismatics (antique gold coins). Much safer

My advise: If someone did ask you to send payment to them for opening an offshore acct on your behalf in their country its BULLSHIT.
NEVER FAX OR EMAIL YOUR GOVERNMENT ISSUED ID/PASSPORT TO ANYONE. BANKS ALWAYS REQUEST HARD COPY WITH ORIGINAL SIGNATURES VIA POST OR IN PERSON.
All letters of demand/applications/receipt MUST come with a Bank Letterhead or logo and their phone numbers on the documents.
Scammers who request money from you via Paypal will always mention 3months for the whole process to finish. BULLSHIT. After 3 months, paypal will no longer process claims. And your money is gone.
NEVER ALLOW ANYONE ELSE OTHER THAN THE BANK STAFFS TO HOLD ANY OF YOUR PERSONAL DOCUMENTS.

You're saying that they don't care, or you *know* for a fact they don't?
I assume they don't care, but I don't know US laws for companies, etc. - what they have to report, etc.

do a search for hsbc on the net. they are the biggest bank in EUROPE by a long way (yes, all of Europe). you need 10kusd in the acct to bank with them - but everyone on GFY is a multi millionnaire so that is no probs...

some of the advice in this thread is retarded.

If you don't have 10K why the hell would even bother to go offshore?
And you don't have to be a multi-millionaire to have 10K to put away...

Edit: I must commend you on your sig, that's just the best ;)

Does not matter which bank funds are wired to Kevsh - it has nothing to do with a sponsor what banking arrangements folks have. And... if they ever asked - the reply would have to be blunt

See what you may be hitting on Kevsh. The difference is being "legally offshore" or otherwise.

From this thread it's blatantly obvious, despite many threads on this subject, that most folks are totally clueless - it's not exactly complex, but they still don't "get it"

Generally, this is correct. Both Swiss banks and a few other countries are not interested in trading accounts - more asset holding and investments, and, by their nature, tend to be on the higher level with funding.

Switzerland is also not the offshore banking area it once was and sure is not suitable for any adult-related business activities.
