Interesting to see what era insidethegame associates his/her comments with -- certainly not what's going on today.
And in the end, it's not about legends, it's about money. Period. |

2 things you dont ask on GFY, one is a buiness question, the second is a tech question beyond anything that is normally bought at best buy :) Quote:

I'd like to take this time to plug all the little people who do the grunt work.
Respect to the content and the stunt cocks. |
12 clicks was owned for a long time by someone who obviously prefers to disassociate himself from his creation.
We all know who the owner was but we won't say because he's always been basically a cool guy with a very bright mind. Too bad we were left with Ronnie. :thumbsup Personally, I really miss Serge. Now there was a man with brains, humour and could carry any kind of conversationon any subject. I also remember the days that Lens had a voice and wasn't an absentee landlord. :2 cents: |
CyberAge Dave has to be pretty high up there ;)

Behind every legend is a myth and while myths make good stories they are not necessarily true.
:2 cents: |
As well as lacking a Hugh Hefner, able to work his magic on a variety of ventures, there is also a distinct lack of newcomers in the list so far. That doesn't bode very well for such a young industry.
I can't believe I'm making the same choice as SD, but I'm also going to "vote" for Andrew Conru. Not because of AFF, which although hugely successful features a lot of what I like least about this business, but because he successfully adapted his business model for so many niches, in and out of porn. The recent changes in the rules of AsiaFF also suggest someone who isn't resting on his laurels and will be around for a long time to come. |

The first two click programs were Cybererotica and Amateur Hardcore so I'd go with "Fantasy Man" of CE, Al Hadhazy of Amateur Hardcore and of course Persian Kitty who dominated the tops of the hit trackers for many years and inspired many free webmasters.
For those who weren't around here is the story behind why Amateur Hardcore instituted a click through program. Amateur Hardcore was buying traffic from a coalition of webmasters know as COTAC. COTAC included Oprano's Serge, JoeHoller, Robon Nixon, DebofTheWeb, NightLifer, and Davic. A disagreement over click counts caused COTAC to stop sending traffic which greatly reduced Al's revenue overnight. Al, needing a quick solution, brainstormed and came up with a click through program which paid two cents per click. The program utilized full automation of the sign up process and stats. The idea quickly spread. Thus was born his click-through program. Necessity really is the mother of invention. |
Wish I was a legend. :)
