Is that real?!?!? See, fuck snakes. My old roommate got a rattlesnake as a pet once, kept it in a cage in the living room. There wasn't a single time I walked past that cage without making sure the snake was still in there.

Yeah that's real often doctors have to cut open the skin to release the pressure since the venom causes the limb to swell.

I got bit by a northern copperhead when I was nine. Luckily my thumb was too small for the snake to get its venom ducts in.

Australia has 9 of the 10 most poisonous snakes, the most poisonous spider, the most poisonous jellyfish and of course the coasts are full of great whites. what a fucking place to live.

I got bit by a rattlesnake when I was 23. Thankfully the snake just bit and decided for whatever snake reason to not let loose any venom. Never knew until then that most snakes have such an option and that is what they sort of call a warning bite.

They watched me for a few hours and had anti venom ready and I was told how my flesh would rot away and such scaring the fuck out of me, then about an hour in the poison guys figured that I got a warning bite only and I was held overnight and released. That damn snake was close to three foot as well and just sprang out of no where near a bush in my backyard, no rattle nothing. To bad I had to kill the thing to bring to the ER with me.

Oh, yeah, the rattle is their way of warning you but if you suddenly come upon one or startle the snake they will just turn and strike. You are definitely lucky the snake didn't feel threatened enough to release the venom, though.

Not quite; it seems as though what appears to be a wound is actually the doctors' attempt to remove the venom's spread. Hence, in spite of the pain appearing unbearable, it may have quite plausibly saved his life!

This is the greatest response because it is so.....natural.

As for the pic, looks like the inside of the arm was horribly swollen...hence the docs cutting it open. Pretty rugged looking for sure.

Edited to add that it is odd that Mr. Websites and I responded at the same time and both used the word "hence". lol...that is all.
