I Might Move To France...

Moved to Malta in November. Tired of the air-pollution here, erratic electricity, insane utility prices, so on. Thinking of France now. Property prices are low compared to my native UK, cost of living 25% lower than uk, well-placed in EU for some nice travelling via the train network, some beautiful country too.

I have a few places in mind already (would love Nice but house prices are too pricey for what I need). La Rochelle is a strong possible.

Anyone in live in France give me area recommendations, links to repuatable realtors, any other info?

You can have very good bargains on real estate around Nice if you're not looking for something huge in front of the seashore. Depends if you accept to be 20kms/30minutes away from the sea :-)

La Rochelle is way too rainy IMHO (like all the part that's north of the line passing by Lyons and Bordeaux).
And if you're looking for something very quiet in the countryside there are still some great bargains to be made, although you'll be in the middle of nowhere (ie: no polution at all, but also 1h away from the nearest decent city)
