Field of Dreams will always get to me. Also the part in Forrest Gump where he is reading the note his son wrote to Jenny.

I also get a little sad at the end of Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

Boobzooka 07-31-2007 02:38 AM

I'm not a crier, but strangely the closest I've come was after Stephen Kings / Anthony Hopkins movie "Hearts in Atlantis"; though I may have just been going through some shit at the time. But my most-touching vote would go to "Punch Drunk Love", so maybe I'm just a weird dude.

You guys should get your asses to the moviemax asap to check out this gem because clearly you haven't seen it.

Oh yes, requiem for a dream is one disturbing movie. Didn't make me cry though, just sick and sad. Same goes for Irreversible

http://talderunschuld.kulturtaikonau...reversible.jpg

When i was done with that flick i ran over to my friends house who recommended it and slapped him in the face. This movie was the most disturbing I have ever seen, and my girlfriend is now on a tight leash when it comes to going out alone, at night in the city.

Die hard 4.0!

Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087365/

When he releases his ape father in Hyde park, they climb a tree and the soldiers come to shoot the escaped ape. Tarzan reaches for his father, but he doesn't realise the danger and is shot. Tarzan gets very sad....

I was 8/9 when this film came out and that bit made me cry.

I think I cried during ET a few years before too. Why were they so mean to the friendly little fella?

Yep, very creative and it was quite cool to see what would happen when the show ended. Much unlike they did for the Soprano's of course...

About 15 minutes from the end I was thinking 'there are so many open threads here, they are never going to close them all up!' and then they went and closed every possible thread and did it in a beautiful way.

I really wanted more from those characters though..such a great series.

Yeah - best series finale ever.

I remember looking at the clock and saying "there's only 20 minutes left... how are they going to wrap up everything in 20 minutes?!?" - and then they did.

lol...I wrote my response before I read yours...we do tend to think a bit alike on these things.

I havent cried over a film as "a man", but when I was a kid, THE CHAMP, and E.T. made me cry.

GreyWolf 07-31-2007 03:57 AM

Definately old Doris Day and Rock Hudson movies - it's hard not to cry when you realise how bad they really were :)

Really? I thought it was quite a happy film. So much good emotion and positive energy it is hard to be sad no matter what happens. He enriched people's existences and that should be celebrated, not mourned. That's how I saw it any way.

Sarah_Jayne 07-31-2007 04:50 AM

I felt melancholy ..he was doomed despite being so kind.

Maybe I'm on my own here.....only one moment in cinema history that gets me every time:

In the Mood For Love .... at the end when Maggie Cheung misses Tony Leung in the building, and looks out her old apartment window....the look on her face....

I turn into a little bitch.

KrisKross 08-02-2007 01:48 AM

My ex cried during Crash... twice. He also cried during Ladder 49.

I didn't cry in the film but I do think it is a beautiful bit of cinema.

My BF would probably cry just because he hasn't had a chance with Maggie Cheung.

That WAS sad wasn't it?? Man! That Harry Potter Crap always makes me laugh. But that thing that happened in Terabithia that I won't mention was some REAL down-to-earth stuff. It really did get to me.

King Kong (when the monkey was shot from the helicopter). At that time I was a kid and I felt so sorry for the monster.
