I just have a hell of time paying someone before you see actual progress on your project. In the real business wordl no one, and I mean NO ONE, would ever consider giving a party all of the cash before he see's what he is in the progress he is having.

It is simply an open door to disaster, one which I learned vry early in my webmaster career.

Personally, I can't see anyone forking over all the cash without some idea as to what quality, time framae and delivery, before even seeing shot one...my voe goies to Rory...don't ever pay anyone all the money up front until you are assured that progras and effort as geing put in to you project.

I head that is not the way it is done in thisbusiness. then it need to chane, goes should have the wehre with all to realize tht no one thier right mind would every considering making full payment with good in hand.

I have just finished digitizing the audio tape of the equipment pickup that I will be sending to those who have requested it. It is totally unedited per aarons request so it makes for a pretty boring tape as alot of it is me walking back and forth to my car with karaoke shit. I did however post it all so the well its out of context excuse would be avoided. It fuckin sounds like shit but I dunno any other way to stream it except putting the mini recorder next to my comp mic and hiting record. I guess I was told that my 'levels' were all fucked up , but I dont really know how to stream analog audio to the comp for best results , nor do I really care to. If anyone would like to 'clean it up' and try and get rid of the bkg noise or whatever and has more knowledge in the audio field, then please feel free.

I have been trying to stand up for myself for the last few days and frankly I feel very comfortable with myself that I have done the right thing throughout and I dont have any regrets about any of it. I have nothing to hide here, so if you are unsure about something I have said or posted I have no problem clarifying my thoughts. Well, it wasn't all of the money up front - from what I gather the price was $5k total. Rory paid $2k up front which is close to a lot of the terms I've seen for exclusive shoots (half up front half on delivery), so the photographer has money to pay the models, rent the location, etc.

I still can't believe how this whole thing is getting aired out over the board.

And I listened to the tape and still really can't figure out who is right.
Just take it to small claims court its under 5k

Rory -- pays deposit on july 15th, agrees to pay balance on Aug. 15th, and accept delivery on Sept. 15th.

Aaron -- Accepts money, can do whatever the fuck he wants with money, as long as delivery in full is made by Sept. 15th.

Aaron's not going to produce that much content without payment in full, and Rory isn't going to pay any more cash out becaue he no longer trusts Aaron.

Solutions:

Rory -- go the court route.

Aaron -- I'm torn between saying "give him his money back" and "tell him he forfeits his deposit on cancellation"........ or at least half the deposit. I know you were busy, but you should have had a few shoots done for the guy in good faith, no?
