The problem with the movie is that it didn't come close to the depth & detail of the book.
The movie was 3 hours long, but it still felt very very rushed.
It would have taken another 2 hours to cover some of the detail from the book, but overall the film was lots of fun to watch.
Watching the movie reminded me of a book report. You take a 400 page book and write down the jist of it in 3 pages.

The book is so immense, but the film was lots of fun to watch.

i'm actually reading the book now, didn't read em when i was a kid, anyways, yeah, i kinda feel that the movie left out too much, and changed too much, but like you said, it really would be impossible to cover the detail of the book.Originally posted by quiet

the movie is very very good...captures the spirit of the book well...
