It's real. She thought she had it in reverse, stepped on the gas and it was in drive instead. She stayed on the gas long enough for the pole to give way with enough angle for the car to climb it getting stuck on the top and perfectly balanced. I was driving by and saw it, went home and got my camera.

Try driving in a Phoenix winter. I've never been almost hit, run off the road, held to 40 on the freeway and almost killed more times in my life then dealing with the snowbirds here. There should definetly be an annual test to make sure they are still with it enough to drive.

I'd say around the late 1970's which would make her Impala almost brand new at the time.

If you think about it, she was sort of a pioneer. These days kids in their Impalas have to use hydraulics to achieve the same results.
