It was mandatory where i live but i was in the states at the time attending school, so i got out of it. Our army doesn't have the financial resources needed to put you through REAL training and i'm not interested in being shacked up in a room with a bunch of guys and scrubbing the floor with a toothbrush every other day...

I tried with both the Army and Marines, neither would take me because I had asthma as a kid. I still have it, but I still passed all their physical tests in high school. So no military for me.

I Was in the Marines 2nd Tanker BN M1A1 Tanker for 4 years
and I served in the Army 1-7 Cavalry 1st Cav Div M1A2 Tanker
I served from 1993 to 2001
I was building galleries on the rear deck of my Tank or in the back of the CO's hummer when I was his driver, when in the field. I would upload them with my cell phone connection
took all fucking night to upload 15 pics, thumbs and the html that went along with them
