I have so many great Joe E stories from conventions I can write a book...
But one memory of Joe maks me laugh harder than anything else.

One night while walking through the Venetian at 3 am Joe, myself, Big Scotty- ( his bodyguard who died in R&B singer AALIYAH'S plane crash) RB from Maxcash, Jeff Newman who owned Busty-Amateurs.com along with his new flame at the time Busty Angel, who later went on to be known as the porn star Angel Cassidy were all talking next to a table in the casino- the next thing we know a casino host comes out from nowhere with two security guys and ask Joe if he'd like the table set up to play- the table was empty.

He says "ok, fuck it"- and the host makes the table $500 a hand- I had all of $100 in my pocket and a net worth of maybe $1000 in the bank at the time- I tell Joe it's to rich for my blood- he says " fuck you hahahahahaha, you are going to sit and play with me and hands me $4,000 in chips!!!

I sit and play with all of the guys at the table and start winning- I get up to $6,000 and I give him his $4000 back. I am now playing with the casino's money and having the time of my life. Jeff leaves totake a piss and without a second to hesitate, Joe says to Angel " I'll give you this black chip if you show me your tits" and Angel in a matter of a second took her " I Love Porn" baby doll t and pulled it over her head!

Joe flicks her a chip and Jeff comes back and we all act as if nothing happened- she put the chip in her shorts.

You can imagine at 4 am now we are all a bit drunk and laughing at Joe he was insane and would do insane things at the table. One being that a few webmasters would stop and talk to him while he was playing cause they'd see $100,000 in chips in front of him and him playing $20,000 hands- (mind you this wasn't in the high limit room, this was part of Joe's marketing ways) One webmaster stops and shakes Joe hand in the middle of him being dealt his cards, he gets up and takes a walk with this webmaster around the casino having a private business chat! The host and dealer gladly waited for him to come back before dealing another card- 15 mins went by with no Joe!

He gets back to the table and says he has to take a piss-leaves and goes to the restroom in the casion and goes missing for another 15 mins.

RB says "I need to go find Joe" and leaves for the restroom- RB comes out of the restroom 5 mins later laughing hysterically with Joe following up close behind looking real woozy. RB tries to tell us what he had just witnessed in the restroom and could hardly get a word out of his mouth he was laughing so hard he couldn't breathe! RB calms down and explains that Joe went into the bathroom to do a line of coke- Joe locked himself in the handicapped stall and laid out a thickie the size of Summerlin on the handrail next to the toilet- as Joe went to approach his line of Yayo, he misjudged the distance between the rail and tile wall that was three inches behind and must have knocked himself out he found him lying next to the toilet on the floor with a knot on his head.
10 mins later Angel and Jeff leave they had enough of Joe by 6 am, and RB started losing so he left as well which left me with Joe, two hookers and my now $3,000 fortune which I decided was enough for me to walk out of the casino with.

Joe looks at me and says you cannot leave, that is my money you have there, and you are coming to my room and we are going to fuck these whores now!

He had that crazy look in his eyes and I looked at him and said " I'll be right back" and sprinted faster than Jesse Owens to my room.

The next day I awake at 8 pm- and there were 15 crazy messages on my phone from Joe...all were incoherent until he mentioned he paid $15,000 to have Houston the porn star in his room and he was getting ready to bang her...

I was kinda dating Houston at the time so he knew he got me good.
To this day, I still don't know if he banged her or not, my money says he did.

Joe was one of a kind.
I once went to Solid Gold with him in Ft Lauderdale and had steaks with him- after dinner he threw $20,000 in funny money up in the air just so he could see chicks bending over and picking up his cash-

For all of you keyboard warriors out here making $5,000 a month and living in your parents basement, Joe at that time was making $57,000 a day- and he showed me his stats and accounts.

Joe E was one hell of a guy.. He always used to take the take of us when we all worked for CyberAge. He would just invite us to hang out with them the whole night, didn't even know half of the people and spend money on them, buy them lap dances, just a great person... I hope he is doing good, and is successful... He is a good person in my book... One hell of a funny guy as well....

Back in the day Joe was trying to get me to send him traffic. The other guys would send me bottles of fancy vodka and stuff like that I didn't really care about. Joe started sending me flowers once a week with a nice note and my check! He is a total character with a crazy temper but he could also be very sweet. We used to joke that Joe E had "packet loss".

Although Joe's has had his problems, he's still one of my all time favorite people. IMO, he has a good heart and soul and that trumps a lot of other shit that people will come down on you for. I haven't seen him in 3 years and I truly hope he's doing well.

We all have our demons, Joe just fed his in a way that didn't work well for him

thanks for putting all the effort into that story. i was going to put up my little Joe E momento and realized you captured the essence of the man so well. For me I liken the folks of that era as true pirates. Once you know who these people are/were, you soon come to understand that if you were in their shoes you probably would have been just the same. This is when you can stop being a hater, and just see it for what it is.

Joe E was a true character of his time, and it was certainly a memorable moment in my life when I got to hang with him for a night. The stories which included his sinking boat, the keys he gave me to his car, the nice steak at the strip club restaurant, the strippers we had hanging from us all night and then the feeling of being a dick when I had to leave him in a late night bar at 6am to go have a breakfast meeting with Bobby Cox of iBill at 7am.

But the one fact that most people miss about the man is how much of a regular Joe he really is. Without saying too much here in public, the most important thing I learned about Joe that night was his love of his family.

Was in Vegas I think 99 show maybe 2000.
I was in an elevator, I recognised em. He had some blond with em I am not sure who it was, kinda hawt big tits and kinda strung out looking herself.
He stood there and staired at me like a fucking psycho. I knew who he was and didnt say a thing. The guy terrified me. His eyes were fucking dialated to shit and what was left of the whites in his eyes was blood shot. He was on some heavy shit obviously. He looked almost as if he was about to fucking freak out in the elevator.

The blond was afraid em also, she looked scared out of her mind. She looked at me nervously and if I could read her thoughts she was saying get the fuck out of here this guy is going to kill me.
It was like 4 or 5 in the morning.

I got a pretty good intuition about people.
This guy was going down and going down hard in some way.

I didnt dare say a thing to the guy...

Making $5000 a month would mean you make more than 70% of American workers. And it's 5X more than the current minimum wage. Why would you be living in your parents basement with that kind of income?

Joe was the american version of Greg Lasrado. Too much money too quickly with absolutely no self esteem. The throwing money around, showing off, trying to get people to like him by giving them money, then when he got so full of himself he screwed anyone who he thought he was better than.

I had a lot of time for Joe in the early days - he was funny, and he has a really sweet little boy in there somewhere but the amount of chemicals that went in there are bound to turn someone into a mess. He fucked over a few friends of mine on his way out of the business, and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth when someone with that much money takes from someone without.

I'd love to see Joe scrap the drugs and turn his life into something useful - because there really was a decent guy in there once and I hope he doesn't go the path of our Aussie version and end up a common street junkie with nothing and nobody to show for his efforts.

He used to spend SO MUCH money to make that and back in those days $2million a month earnings for someone who spent hundreds of thousands on advertising, almost 6 figures on show booths and i'm sure several hundred thousand a month on hookers and drugs really wasn't that big of an achievement. JB did a great job keeping that program afloat after the lifestyle took over Joe.

It didn't take a rocket surgeon to make money back then ... but many of us were too stupid to realize it wasn't always going to be that way - myself included - and lived lifestyles we thought we deserved and patted ourselves on the back for being such great business people.

There was only a handful of business people in the industry back then and most have gone on to bigger and better things.

Your point about 'we would all be the same' isn't exactly true. I used to think that too and that's how I justified being an asshole. The truth is, not everyone behaves like an asshole when they have money. Joe did, I did, you did, but not everyone.

You brought up another name that's been on all of our minds the last week here in Brisbane - and I'm sure in lots of places around the world.

Bob Cox passed away last week. Its been a very nostalgic week thinking back on some of the old days we used to share with him.
