Funny things older people say...

Last night we were trying to convince my father in law to go see a film in the cinema since he recently told us that he hasn't been to see a movie at an actual cinema since the late 1970's.

So, we were going down the list of films on at our local cinema and he had a reason not to see all of them. Then we got to Die Hard and his wife says 'Why don't you go see that new Die Hard movie.' He then quickly shakes his fist in their air and loudly declares 'I hate that Bruce Lee!'.

I had to turn my head not to laugh where he could see me

You're right, old people are just great. All through highschool I volunteered at a local nursing home several times a week, and the things you can learn from people who have actually lived history are amazing. Not to mention the fact that they're WAY funny when not even trying to be.

they are funny as hell and a great source of information that is NOT in the history books. Although the info can be a little messed up.

yeah...older people are sometimes funny for being so innocent and unfamiliar to what is happening right now...my grandfather always asks me something and when he tried to give comment i suddenly laugh. but i would say that we could learned many things from them specially if its all about history..

The problem with old people is that they stop. It gets to a point where they put their world on pause and the rest of us pass them by. Then they are so far behind that they are afraid or make excuses for everything. With technology, especially, you can't pause yourself. If you do that you'll end up like one of those old people standing next to an ATM completely confused.

Your father-in-law must have paused himself back in the 70s, also sounds a little socially retarded.

No, he generally isn't ..very clever and 'up' man but just doesn't know film stars, I guess. He knows how to use the internet and does it from time to time and stuff..more than a lot of people his age. This just made me laugh.
