We do love members and treat them well.. but for surfers? probably not.. we have "surfer love" scheduled for a 2019 release.

V_RocKs 07-16-2007 06:51 PM

Very interesting upgrades!

While I have been receiving pretty much the same postback info for several years, I am impressed that you are opening this up to every webmaster.

My concerns would be with sending out this info to just any Vladimir, Boris and Igor. I presume a certain amount is being banked on the surfer never reading the privacy policy. I have to admit, I found it to be a little unnerving.

Good luck with it though.

Vladimir and Igor get *sanitized* information, not full access to all information.

For example, IP addresses are delivered in 127.0.0.XXX form so that the *exact* ip is not readable... e-mail addresses are not delivered either, only the e-mail *host* name....

Take a look at exactly what we've put together and I think you'll find that we have very carefully constructed this.

Obviously you haven't very carefully constructed it, or at least not thought it all through.

You allow people to use 1pixel trackers on the join success pages, thus they get the member's full IP. They can then match that full IP against the records you're sending them containing "sanitized partial ip" and match it with the member's name, country, state, zip, email domain, etc. etc.

I have a feeling QuickBucks is going to quickly become a favorite of Nigerians. :2 cents:

This whole thing is an egregious violation of your member's privacy, and I guarantee you if any of them read your privacy policy and understood it meant that many of their personal details would be given to any third world half wit that can setup wordpress or a gallery page, they'd run from your sites and never return.

:2 cents:

BoyAlley 07-17-2007 10:21 AM

PS: This is EXACTLY the type of irresponsible crap that leads to new VISA regulations. :2 cents:

Quick Buck 07-17-2007 10:30 AM

oh PUHLEAZE... if you send somebody to our site you already HAVE their ip address... the ip sanitization is almost pointless.

don't get your panties in a bunch. lol, your sanitized e-mail and ip address and country of residence hardly violates your privacy.

:thumbsup for the Quickbuck assertiveness to always look out for their people!

I wouldn't say it's completely secure, I already see a way that something as simple as a tracking pixel could be engineered to phish user login information from the surfer.

But whatever, no one in this industry cares about security anyway. I've had one of these "adult processors" flat out tell me that it's ok to store CVV2 data.

mortenb 07-18-2007 12:51 PM

This is something I have been waiting for and have been asking adult affiliate programs for for a long time.. It is one of those things that can really help affiliates make more sales..

BoyAlley, it is not like pixeltracking and postbacks are new in mainstream affiliate marketing and they are not having any real problems with it. Quickbuck is just the first adult program to do it.

We put a great deal of thought into the structure of the pixels. Our img src's are placed on a page that do not contain any member data, and thus pass no useful data in the referring url to the pixel image.

If you do see a problem with it i'd be happy to discuss it or adress it but I feel quite confident that it's secure.

What happens when a shady webmaster supplies a url that uses http authentication? After the surfer signs up they can be presented with a "fake login" that they'll more than likely enter their details into since it's the way 99.9% of the other paysites out there work. All the while they're unknowingly submitting their credentials to an separate third party.

Quick Buck 07-18-2007 02:39 PM

that is true and that would give the attacker access to some free porn, however a username and password do not give anybody the ability to access any customer information.

it would also get your account terminated without pay.

and then lastly we verify the identity of every individual promoting quickbuck before pixels can be used.

Rui 07-18-2007 04:11 PM

This is the sort of "announcement" you dont see everyday.

Congratulations, I'm pretty sure the resources, work and trouble you've been tru to implement something like this is already starting to payoff!

once again congrats.
