Try the rice thing but what worked for me was submerging the phone in 90&#37; rubbing alcohol for 30 minutes. Then let stand for 24 hours.
The alcohol removes the water and then evaporates.

I tried that after letting it air dry for a week with no success. After the alcohol it worked fine except the ear speaker lost some volume.
