i'm glad your pup is doing ok and wish him a speedy recovery (those bacon treats go a long way btw). and i admire your control in this situation.

SOunds like a good plan, Aaron. It might be a good idea to get the public aware of the attack, too. Write a letter to the editor of the local paper and let them know about the dogs and you could even ask others who had run-ins with those same dogs to send you their stories.

Good idea Elli, people read the newspaper and dog lovers will sometimes have nothing else to do but take up the cause.

As mentioned above..make sure your yard is secure from other dogs getting in..even if it means putting in a taller fence. Cayman needs to feel safe. He is for sure traumatized right now..poor fella, I just want to hug him and let him know what a brave pooch he is.

legally, they might not get done what you want done..you might have to take matters in your own hands to make sure they dont attack again.

Shooting them will land you in legal trouble as you well know, but a can of bear spray will blind them fuckers long enough for you to possibly cripple them..scare the fuck out of the dogs so they dont want to leave their own yard.

Good luck with Cayman..he's a beauty and has alot of heart to survive!

I spent most of the day tracking down the dogs that did this and I found them. I have independent witnesses who can verify that the dogs were loose last night. I have pictures of the dogs and a fecal sample since one of them decided to shit in the yard.

Cayman is home now. He won't eat or drink much and he's clearly scared shitless.

Despite our differences, that story got me. I hope your dog will be ok and that the attacking dogs get put down. Good call on the lawsuits, that should stir things up if they go well.
