who here has tried chinese steamed pork dumplings whilst in beijing?
Would say you are lucky after The Beijing Industry and Commerce Bureau had uncovered an unlicensed snack vendor selling steamed dumplings with traditional pork filling padded out with cardboard husks, the Beijing News said on Thursday, citing an investigative report by state-owned China Central Television.
The bureau had announced a city-wide crackdown of small snack vendors and warned people to eat in "legal" establishments. Then I was gobsmacked when reading further...  that there kitty cat was saved from being skinned and eaten. Read here for more on china's campaign to rescue cats. I'll have card-pork husks over skinned meow chow any day. |
